Your vids are top notch. I have used fsx for over 25 years and have just recently installed xplane11. In comparison X-Plane beats fsx in every aspect except the flight training. X-Plane flight school is almost useless compared to fsx. Is there any add on freeware or Payware you would recommend to bring X-Planes flight school par with fsx?

You fly at 74 KIAS after takeoff because that is the C172's Vy speed, or the best rate of climb as you know

yes but it doesn't work well with this flight model. I am aware of the 172's Vy speed but we always climbed out at 80 knots.

You weren't at all man! I think all schools train differently. I had a buddy that flew final at 65 knots and we were trained for 70.

Yeah, to land I was taught to aim for 65 knots dirty, and 70 knots clean. To takeoff I was taught to climb out at 74 knots to for my best rate of climb

Hello Jeff, love your videos ! I have taken flight lessons many years ago, and recently i have started studying again because I want to start up again. Years ago I purchased a bunch of Saitek instruments, gauges, yoke and rudder pedals. my girlfriend bought me a flight panel and we both installed everything i had, plus I purchased some new equipment, including a new gaming computer to handle everything. I am in need of your help if it is at all possible. I have xplane 11 installed. Through xplane I have everything calibrated and the yoke, rudders and throttle all work, but none of the gauges, multi-switch, radio panels, or multi-panel work. I researched the spadnext site, purchased the full program, but I cannot get my equipment to work or sync to xplane 11. spadnext has been as helpful as they can, but i am ready to give up. Is there anything you can suggest that I do? thanks a million

Idk if u heard of it, but last month, the Cathay Pacific Airways said farewell to the jumbo with a special flight numbered CX8747(as 8 pronounces like bye in Cantonese),the flight flew through the harbour of Hong Kong at an altitude of lower than 2000 ft.... and what I'm saying is,i wanna challenge u,to take the jumbo and recreate the flight (I've done my attempt and... well... I failed as the plane over stressed 😂😂😂)

I'm using the keyboard and when im about to put the throttle up to full, I'm pressing the f2 key and for some reason everytime i press the f2 key, it doesn't work and it lowers the volume down. Can someone helpo me with this. I lvoed your video btw.

On your computer you have to press the Fn (Function) key and F2 to get the F2 key press it is looking for. You are probably on a laptop and it does the pictured function for the key first, with the Fkey when you hold down the Fn button along with that key. It is probably between the Ctrl and Alt keys one one side of the keyboard or the other. On some computers it is to the left of the Ctrl key on the left side. (Lenovo)

Hi, about 10 years ago I got into flying by using a simulator on a pc. I then went on to do the real thing. Well, 15 hours at least (3hrs in an aerobatic plane). I ended up changing my career path but now would like to refresh my memory on it all and perhaps get into some real life flying again (as a hobby). Sorry for the novel. Should I upgrade to get noticeable better performance running X-Plane 11? By this mean will the 3D rendering of the scenery, mainly buildings, be much better? Brandon Taylor im not Jeff but xplane11 is definitely better than any other sim and really worth the money than fsx or prepare3d, fsx can’t press all the button on the instruments and prepare3d is kinda expensive.

It's a normal part of flying the 172.
