@4:45, 10 to 30 knob is the bank angle limit. So when you make a turn with a bank limit of 30 your turn will be sharper/faster than if you had it on 10. Thanks for the video you are awesome :)
@Zyllien5 жыл бұрын
The 10 to 30 on the hdg is the angle the plane is flying the curve 😉

I just decided to start flying the 737-800 and have been able to fly headings fine with heading bug, but the auto-pilot has not been working as it does in GA aircraft. This video really helped to understand some of the questions I had regarding when to activate LNAV, CMD and CWS! Thanks!

Great Video! Even tought me a couple things I didn't know about the N1 Limit page! Those 10-30 buttons you saw on the heading knob actually adjust the bank angle of your aircraft with the autopilot on (in all modes- VOR LOC, APP, Heading & LNAV). If it's set to 10 it'll give you a 10 degree bank when turning, 30 a 30 degree bank. Basically the larger the number, the steeper the bank. But overall its best to leave it in the middle where it was then, that'll leave it set to auto.

Great Job! Just a small clarification on the V/S button. You are right it changes pitch, however to be more precise, it adjusts your rate of climb in Feet Per Minute. (FPM). This is useful if for example, ATC requests you to “expedite climb”. Then simply engage V/S and crank it up to 4000FPM. Be careful with V/S climb as the aircraft will maintain the selected V/S disregarding speed which can cause a stall. Lastly FLCH will allow you to adjust pitch based on speed. Select a speed for climb/descent and press FLCH. Aircraft will pitch to maintain the speed. This is useful for descent if descent clearance has been received late past your TOD. Descent at a fast speed (steep angle) then when your slightly below your desired path, wind your speed back down to reduce your pitch, causing you to slow down and recapture your VNAV path. Great job nonetheless. Happy Landings

Somebody give me answer. If I engage Lnav and vnav then autopilot follows FMC right? (I mean speed and altitude mentioned at certain waypoints) or I have to set altitude and speed manually? I'm confused
@thesauceindustry44235 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it will follow the altitude and route that you put in the FMC.
@Matt_102035 жыл бұрын
Yep, LNAV and VNAV are FMC dependant and will operate based on the parameters in the FMC.
@MrJohnnybalboa4 жыл бұрын
Yeah but keep in mind LNAV will not go higher or lower than the Altitude set in the MCP. So if you want to let the Plane descend all the way down, set the MCP Altitude to the Altitude you want it to descend to. VNAV does only work if you set the performance parameters in the FMC ("perf init", especially winds,OAT temp and Cost Index "CI"). This is what works for me

The info that heading select and speed work without autopilot actually properly engaged explains why in XPlane mobile the touch control autopilot doesn't work properly. You still have to manually set it via the actual autopilot panel for it to work properly. Activating it via the touch panel doesn't turn on the flight directors or autothrottle.

Hey man! Grate Video. Btw, the 10-30 mode on the Heading knob is used so u can tell the Autopilot how steep his turns are allowed to be. 10 means his bankangle is 10 degree. If you are flying in the US, for example Boston (BOS), you have to enter the 4 letter identifier with a "K" - KBOS. If you are choosing a very small airport or helipad, there is a chance X Plane's database is outdated. I had to use the previous airport name for a regional airport that did not show up and use its former name instead.
@airplanemode20876 жыл бұрын
Xrossy - I think your reply covered it, but you do say ICAO vs IATA. ICAO is with the letter of the country(don’t know much about it) US is K except Alaska and Hawaii where P is used, Canada is C Colombia in some places is S, etc. When you plug the code into the FMC make sure you use the ICAO vs the IATA
