I run three computers and I'm unable to get this running on any of them. Two computers load and just sit at calculating, the third computer gives me an error. The computer that gives me an error, the ports are not in use, I tried a new download and I have no firewall/virus protection.

what did I miss looks like I have done as described but all I'm getting after selecting Bing Maps and clicking on start is this "spinner" and nothin happens , any ideas?

Hello, since I made this video the developer has changed the install process unfortunately. Since I moved back to AutoOrtho I am not sure what the new install process is. The best option would probably be to ask the dev directly on their discord. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Another great video as always mate !! These videos show your deep knowledge and when you are at your very best. As you know I started generating Ortho4XP tiles on an external SSD-drive and have had no problems at all with them, opposite to AutoOrtho. I currently have about 160 tiles generated. Can you see any advantages with Map Enhancement compared to Ortho4XP other than not having to spend time on manually generating all the tiles? Once again Thanks for an outstanding work !!

Thank you very much Leif! Map Enhancement pretty much achieves the sames as AutoOrtho but the developers goal is to make it much more stable and easier to install. At the moment it does seem more stable but at times the quality can be quite low. This is very much cpu and Internet dependent. The only real reason to switch from Ortho4Xp is due to not having to pre generate tiles. However my first choice for ortho scenery is still ortho4xp as its the highest quality. Map Enhancement is still in public beta and in my opinion still needs some work but the dev is very focused on it and many updates are coming out. It's a project to watch for sure!

Yes this should work with XP11 too. This replaces AutoOrtho so if you install this you would need to delete AutoOrtho to avoid any conflicts. Thank you for the kind words! :)

Hi there! I added you on Discord but wanted to ask here so others may see it: how to integrate this with XOrganizer? From what I gather after we start the app (without having it automatically start XP) so the scenery files are automatically added to the scenery folder. Is it at that point one would open XO and then ensure things are in the proper order before starting XP from XO?

The program should automatically sort the .ini out however its worth checking in XO too after starting the program. I don't think you will have to do anything other than check it's correct. Unfortunately I don't have XO so can't test this myself but do let me know how it goes :)

I would recommend removing everything to do with AutoOrtho but winFSP should be fine to leave.

Hello, this shouldn't remove any autogen from the sim. It will simply add satellite imagery as your ground textures. :)

Hello, this should work on xp11 but im not sure about the linking. I have moved back to AutoOrtho as I get much better performance and better quality images :)

Well it's 80gb for all the base packages. You might he able to have na or eur but you need space for the cache too

Does this affect performance? Will it use a minor usage of vram? How much fps is expected on vatsim? Auto ortho seems to drain my fps when on the network.

It really depends on your Internet speeds and pc. It shouldn't affect fps much but may cause stutters. I believe it will also use some VRAM. Best bet is to try it out :)

No It looks like you need to reinstall or upgrade winFSP and make sure you have the overlays base package correctly installed

The download speeds depend on your Internet do should be the same as AutoOrtho. This program though us much less temperamental and easier to install

@@DrishalMAC2 I have a fast internet speed and get up to 50 MB/s (not mbps) but autoortho only seemed to use up to 3 MB/s if im lucky and had lots of freezing mid game, downloading the files right now, will see how this one does, really hope its better though. Thanks for the video!

@@DrishalMAC2 It still downloads at about 5 MB/s but surprisingly its loads faster, might be placebo, but i haven't had any problems of the game freezing mid flight yet like with autoortho which makes the experience better by like 10 folds

Yes normally I would use the term scenery however the actual name of the program is called "X-Plane Map Enhancement", I was just using the official name of the program :)

Sigh. That's extremely complex. Auto Ortho was much more understandable. But AO crashes relentlessly because it is unable to find its missing files.

Haha no worries my friend! I think you may be able to use the ones you already downloaded if you copy them out of the z_autoortho folder into a separate map enhancement folder. But I would probably recommend spending a bit more time and delete everything to do with AO and install this from scratch just to limit any possible issues :)
