Hi Chris nice video. Am trying to get a realistic thermalling experience and got to your videos. This is very unrealistic behaviour indeed. Thermals also seem to originate completely randomized instead of being influenced by terrain. Do you have some advice for me to get the most realistic experience with the recent state of the sim?

Hello Been. To turn on thermal visualization hit Ctrl M a few times until you see "Thermals & Microbursts". I explain how to do this in the video here... kzbin.info/www/bejne/eGnTaoFsgZuNpNE

I replied to your post on the Facebook group regarding how I can possibly help once I've got my head around the weather systems in XP. I'm sure if we know what needs to be done I could implement something in LUA which would be open to easy modification as required without requiring special tools and programming knowledge - I don't consider script languages such as LUA etc. "proper" languages ;-)

Excellent overview Chris, I suppose the question is how much effort is it worth to temporarily fix the issue until Austin decides to make it happen in XP? Or as I think your suggesting, perhaps the brains can develop a bonifide add on programmed in C++ or some language other than a python script. Similar to Cumulus X in FSX. that would be some work. I like the jet engine pointing down idea. VTOL!
