I'm looking to enter a radiography program this December. I'm also the type of person who likes to prepare as much as possible before doing something new. I cannot stress how helpful these kinds of videos are, and I greatly appreciate the information you continue to put out there. Thank you!

I really want to go to school to become a radiology technician. I work 3/12s. Saturday, Sunday & Monday as an Officer. Then my daughter is with me weekdays from Monday night to Friday night. Wondering if Programs are flexible with clinical days and allow some on line courses or virtual classes???

The programs that are local to me are strict on clinical days alongside in person classes. There are no options for virtual courses and clinical are in person 2-3 days a week. You would most likely need to find childcare for your daughter through the week and may need to cut back on working Fridays depending on your program.

I’m currently going to a community college for my prerequisites in TX, but I’m not fully aware which ones are REQUIRED as I’ve searched everywhere and my advisors feel like they’re having me take classes that don’t involve medical science, as of right now I’m starting my english and math along with general psychology

You might not need psychology. I had sociology instead as a requirement. I’m assuming you will transfer schools and that the community college does not have a radiologic technology program? If so then you need to look up which school you want to go to for your actual rad tech program and look at their required courses as a guide on what to take at the community college. Also ensure that the credits will transfer. You can do all of this by contacting the college that you will be attending (or want to attend) for the rad tech program directly. Don’t let the community college waste your time or money by suggesting courses that won’t benefit your progress in the rad tech program. I hope this helped!

Hey! I’m in Texas and my radiology program also requires anatomy and physiology 1&2, college algebra, English, and psychology. Then depending on the grade you get they go off a point system and students with the highest number of points move forward to the interview.
