I've done a bit of this technique. I've had advanced rod builders tell me that marbling as nothing to do with custom rod building and I should avoid it. I could care less. Looks great. A little something for everyone.

I'm self taught for the most part, so I don't listen to anyone...just ask my wife.🤣🤣

Interesting video, to much marbling for myself. But I will be trying this on a rod for my 5 grandson's to use. I know they will like it. Also I would like to say your Audio is very good. I assume you are using a Lav. mic. I'm interested in your A/V setup. ( retired A/V tech )

Using GoPro Hero 8's with the media mods. The built in shot gun mics are very good, plus a little audio editing on Premier Pro software. I have Rode wireless lavs but don't need them in the rod shop.

Does the marbling mud level itself out while turning on the dryer mode, do you need to hit it with a bit of heat... Cheers...

I put heat to it but it still doesn't completely level. I don't mind the texture but a couple of thin coats of clear over the top will take care of it.

No my cup of tea but great video.

I don't do much of it because it's really not my style either, but a lot of people like it.

I don't understand this. Doing this ruins the feel of cork and would make the handle slippery! Looks prety but ruins its functionality.

Not true at all. Can't explain it but you don't loose control of the grip even under wet conditions.
