Don't worry!"😊 - Playing as X: *crickets* 😐 > Long Version During Xtreme 2, Iris pretty much ignored X. She only acknowledges him when he and Zero are together and never addresses X directly alone. She only says something like: "Good job, you two." "You two, Character Change is now available." She NEVER says anything like: "X, are you alright?" "Be careful, X!" Why? This is only my hypothesis, but this might have something to do with Iris's dream. As stated in X4's ending, Iris longs for a reploid-only utopia. Iris in canon went nuts because Zero killed her brother. In this one, its X, so there's less emotional impact and X is more restrained, so even if they fight, she probably lives. Iris be like "By the way, I never died in this version." *Thunk thunk thunk thunk*

@@icemarvel0791 From what many people seem to imply, the story is usually a combination of both paths on each game you have multiple storylines. To give an example: A lot of people say that on the X4 final missions, Zero stayed on the earth to fight the Colonel, and while trying to dismantle the repliforce base he had to face Iris; while X went to the space station to stop the General and Sigma. Or in the end of X5, both X and Zero fight to defeat sigma (I usually think that one of them went first, and the other arrived mid fight) This makes sense to me at least, and i usually think about it like that. X5 also shows scences of previous games, probably implying those paths are canon. Edit: Forgot to specify the X4 thing

Actually, Colonel challenges X in his route. So, in my mind, this is how I think it played out: 1. X receives a challenge from Colonel while Zero wasn't at the base. X decides to accept his challenge. 2. Zero hears about the challenge and decides to try and stop the duel from happening in the first place. This is why he yells: "I'm disappointed in you, Colonel"; because he never thought Colonel would straight up just announce hostility against the Hunters by challenging X. Colonel was on his way to the duel arena where he and X would battle then so he was surprised that Zero was even there. Iris stops the fight and prevents Zero from further pursuing Colonel. 3. X arrives at the arena first and then Colonel arrives after the fancy light show. They get on with their duel and X ends up sparing Colonel's life anyway. During their second bout, here is my headcanon: 1. Both X and Zero rush in to try and stop Repliforce from taking off. Colonel cuts them off so Zero tells X to get going. Zero beats Colonel but, unlike X, he showed the guy no mercy and actually destroys him. 2. X gets on the final weapon first and, there, he fights Double. Zero, the only other Maverick Hunter, was still rushing to the Final Weapon so only Double was present when X was asking for reinforcements. X meets Double and they fight; X beats Double. 3. Zero arrives on the Final Weapon where he is confronted by Iris. They fight and Zero ultimately destroys Iris. 4. Zero and X meet before confronting the General. They beat him together. 5. Zero and X fight Sigma but they get separated after defeating his second form (there was a giant explosion so I believe it is possible that they were separated here). They each fight Sigma's varying form with Zero making it out slightly before X. 6. Zero delivers his soliloquy but he is contacted by X who tells him to eliminate him should he ever turn Maverick. --End--
