43:01 - "I'm so dead." This battle was lost a long time ago, Dominic. Crashing into asteroids, tangling up your ships, letting the Rebels run all over you and get into firing positions, not eliminating Tyco a long time ago ... these are not the methods of one who prevails in battle.

Matt at 10:40 when you went back to redo do your A-Wings action, you wouldn't have been able to target lock Howlrunner. As he moved after the A-Wing and when you redone your action the A-wing was only just in range to target lock. Also quiet cheatsie since your purpose to target lock howlrunner was to shoot assault missiles.

Garvin can pass focus even with no focus results. These guys need to read the FAQ. Heck they need to re-read the rules too, forgetting that ships overlapping asteroids can't attack.

only the template and final base position matter for determining whether you hit an Asteroid etc matt, so the falcon wouldnt have colided on that third turn

Phantom found himself kind of isolated over there, along with another valuable asset (i.e. TIE Bomber), right in front of three X-Wings. Seems like the initial advance to engagement by Imperials was kind of haphazard.

Bought Armada a couple months ago, tried to play it, and got a headache. My friend got this right after, and I just bought it last week. I went a little crazy and got the base set, the Tantive IV, the Millennium Falcon, the Imperial Shuttle, and the Decimator. Still need a couple imps to even out the Corvette on the rebels. I'll be getting that little tie x star destroyer as soon as it's available...Had an epic battle last night, but the imperials had to use so many upgrades to even out the points that it was a little ridiculous. Still surprisingly even, but I want to straighten it out a bit more. Thinking Slave I and a tie bomber...

ryan sinclair 40k is OK - it just seems to be dying out. Hardly anyone in my gaming group- or in several other gaming groups we play with is playing it any more. It seems strange to me for MWG to dedicate so much content to a dying format when games like x-wing and warmachine seem to be taking over everywhere

5ynthesizerpatel I understand where your coming from, and I have noticed the dying format a bit too, But I'm 14 and I'm about to start collecting 40k because some of my friends do, it just comes and goes in fads, like any game franchise really, but mini war gaming is far cooler than any video game and is more noticeable when a game dies down due to the social nature p.s. I have watched a little more X-wing and am starting to get more of a respect for it and it's intricacies.

There should not be asteroid nearby a distance of 1 of the deployment zone. Also you need to be in range 3 at least to target lock. Also you couldn't shoot when you hit an asteroid

That TIE Advanced spends most of the game in gridlock, all its firepower wasted, while Wedge/Biggs/Kelchu are free to pick off Imperial targets with impunity.

I bought a starter and six extra ships to start. I'm enjoying the Battle Reports. Great game and expandability. Cheaper then Armada is and get many more ships. Just need a 12' table if we want a Star destroyer. Just kidding.

27:28 - Another blooper for the Imperial Luftwaffe - allowing the A-Wing to break through, get into open territory, and get on the TIE Bomber's tail. At 28:18 the Falcon breaks through with that nasty 360 turret, while the Imperials are all jammed up like commuters in rush hour traffic!!! Was ist falsch an unsere Piloten heute Lord Vader!!

I don't think Mat is cheating. The other player was just not playing very good. Flying though an asteroid in turn 1 (wtf?) beeing out maneuvered all the time etc. Although being a German nativ speaker I had to listed to Dominik's German three times to understand it. He was actually easier to understand in English :D

Well they both have very suboptimal lists to begin with. But Matt always seems to play completely random stuff, while his opponent looks like he just has no clue. But i guess that's totally fine and its fun to watch. The german guy just seems to be either a total newbie or well...

I don't like Mat bat reps. I think he takes advantage of other players by cheating. If you forget something you deal with it. You can't change things because then you make mistakes and whoever is making the corrections tends to correct in their own favor.

um how does the falcon get a photon torpedo i have the falcon expansion um the falcon doesnt get a target lock cuz han solos pilot power is way OP also i have luke skywalker as crew but his card says you may reroll one dice per turn um are there different versions of the falcon expansion or something?

Painful to watch the way the TIE Phantom is used - basically flown into the target sites of three X-Wings where he can be vaporized. The asteroid collision also painful. Baron Von Richtofen would not approve of the dogfighting skill on display here.

I realize pretty much all the people commenting are Xwing fans but the game is not that good - it doesnt appeal to me personally in the slightest. Too small scale, some poor rules, too personality based, almost like a trading card game etc. Interesting to see how the games play out but yeah...each to their own.

I am interested that you say it is not that good. I have played it a bit, and find that it focuses on maneuvering, planning and anticipation rather than just rolling a ton of dice. I am also curious which games you like that have a tighter rule set. Outside of Warmachine, most of the popular miniatures games are extremely loose on the rules.

Wreqt To be honest I play very games these days because they are all pretty lackluster, and you are right, they either involve throwing a heap of dice or have other weak rules/exploits/faction imbalance etc. If you had of asked me 15 year ago when I was into playing various military/sci fi games I could have rattled off a number of names but they are either OOP or changed to be more 'main stream' and ruined. The problem with many of those games that I thought were good, froma rules perspective, the scope of the game was rather limited.

Internetbutthurt I would unfortunately have to agree with you. I personally think even X-Wing has its issues, but compared to the current competition, it is one of the better games out there.
