My complete X-Wing miniatures collection 2022

I think this is 283 miniatures. I'm pretty sure a few have gone missing around my house. I am also missing the Plo Koon ltd edition ship, the chrome N1 and I don't have the Yellow defender Imperial boxset. I just never ordered it.

Pity that there doesn't seem to be much prospect of new ships being released any time soon. I'm not even playing the game, I just love having a bunch of Star Wars ships in (approximately) the same scale.

You have an amazing collection. I have 156 ships (at least one of each released) and still need to buy few to be able to field some of them in mini-swarms. Looking at your collection it amazes me that you have some ships in large quantities that are quite rare or hard to find: e.g. 6 Separatist Belbullabs which are only available through Separatist Starter Kit (Servants of Strife), 4 Shadow Casters, 5 HWK-290, 4 Tie Punishers, 4 Lambda shuttles, 5 gunboats, 5 Tie Aggressors ( I like the pink one). Just for fun (and to feel a little bit better about my tiny collection) I tried to find ships that you don't have and I may have found one: Separatist/Scum Rogue Class Starfighter that comes in a two-pack which I have. Now I win and you lose. I am the bestest of the two of us. HAHAHA. But seriously, some of the ships you have I wish I had half as many. Not to mention that I don't have a single epic ship - just decided not to buy them because they would compete for shelf space with my SW Armada ships. P.S. Love the bit about the wife coming back from work and seeing it, so you have to hide it. Hahaha - this is why I only ever have a portion of my ships on display and the rest of them stashed hidden. Why do men have to hide how much money they spend on their hobbies?

I looked at the thumbnail, and thought to myself, “amateur…”, but then you went through your collection, make by make, and I then thought to myself, “finally… a worthy challenger!”. :) When I first started playing X-Wing, I decided that I wanted to be able to field 100 points worth (or part thereof) of any individual ship, from any faction. So, at the time, that was twelve TIE fighters, eight Z-95’s (or was that the other way around?), four Lambda Shuttles, two Falcons, etc., and I stuck with it. I limited myself to one of each of the Huge ships, because, well, money… and I am yet to purchase the Trident. However, then they started to release repaints and new cards, in two-for boxes, so I ended up with many more makes of some ship than I originally intended. Even though I knew they would continue to do this, I continued to purchase 100 points of each make, as they were released. My only exception to this rule was for “unique” ships, such as the Resistance Fireball, and Mando’s Razor Crest, as I thought they deserved this special treatment. I have stopped collecting First Order and Resistance ships now, though, as, like the sequel trilogy, I don’t think they add anything new, or actually useful, to the universe. * There are some more recent models that I am still short on. I, too, have a sole Droid Tri-Fighter, and a single LAAT/i Gunship. As funds allow, I will fill in these gaps. Many of my models are from first edition, and I have not purchased many of the second edition models, unless there were changed, or improved, in some way. I purchased new T-65s, for the folding wings, and new Y-Wings, for the new sculpts, etc. but, if there were no distinction changes to a sculpt, I kept my first edition models, without updating. In order to be able to field my collection in second edition, I ended up purchasing two of each conversion kit (apart from the Resistance, and First Order, as there were not too many models released at that time. In some instances, two kits was not enough for my collection, but I decided I would never be able to field all those extra models at once, in any case. X-Wing is the game 8 year old me has always wanted to play, ever since I watched the Millennium Falcon soar away from Mos Eisley, and forty small ships desperately tried to destroy the gargantuan Death Star. Even if X-Wing is discontinued, I will never get rid of my miniatures, barring accidents. At fifty-two, I have been a Star Wars fan for over four decades, and I don’t plan on giving that up, anytime soon. I will keep the game alive, and continue to play solo campaigns, if necessary, even if I end up in a retirement home. Thanks for sharing your collection with us. * I still hold out hope that the sequel trilogy will be retconned, and forgotten, at some point in the future. Someone, please enter the World Between Worlds, and fix this! :)

Wow that’s a lot of ships you must have! Yeah I started playing early enough in the games lifecycle that buying multiples wasn’t too hard. Now though I’m less bothered and will probably just buy 1 of anything released.

@@thephantomminis8419 yes, it is a lot. I will keep collecting until they eventually pull the plug (which I hope is not for many more years, yet). Even after the game is well and truly considered dead, I will have all my minis proudly on display, rather than in their individual cardboard “garages” that they are in now - it makes it easier to transport them this way. My preferred faction is the Rebel Alliance, with the Galactic Republic coming in a close second. What can I say? I like being the good guy… :) Back in first edition, my “go to” squad for game nights was three K-Wings, with Advanced Slam, Cluster Mines, Cluster Mines, and Bombardiers. I often also included Sabine. I would fly in formation to the biggest group, (or target individuals, where this was not possible), land in front of them (or just behind them) drop a set of Cluster Mines, then Slam away. Regroup, reposition,and do it again, until the mines ran out. Then I would try to finish them off with range 1 turret attacks… the looks on some player’s faces, when they had both a mine on their ship, and another directly in front of them, was often priceless. If you haven’t had this happen to you before, it can be quite Chaotic. It was also a good learning experience for newer players unfamiliar with bombers, and the K-Wing. We have a handful of top tier players at my FLGS, with everyone else being at different levels. Everyone hated facing my K-Wings, but also loved the challenge of trying to take them out. The list ended up with slightly more wins, than losses. It should probably have performed better, but I am an average player, at best… :) But I can honestly say I have defeated three “top eight” Nationals players with this list, more than once.

I used to keep them all on display on shelves. Recently I have started putting them back in boxes. Simple cleaning methods probably best like a duster or light wipe with a cloth.

X-Wing is a tabletop game currently in its 3rd distinct edition - run by a company called AMG. So yes I guess they are.

Yeah I struggled the last 5 months to find a time to play. I competed at XTC in 2022 but after that I just haven’t had the desire hit me.

I feel your pain, we had a great group of over 20 regular players. Every Wed was xwing night at the games store with a monthly competition. Then 2nd edition hit and 90% of the players quit. Don't know if any of the guys are still playing at the store other days but wed is now skirmish games night.
