A ship that deploys via Emergency Deploy can't perform an action, but can engage during that phase at its initiative (page 10 of the rules reference under DOCK. 3rd paragraph and the 2nd bullet point after the 3rd paragraph.)

Hey Dion. Loving these! Could you do a quick tips on medium bases? Like how far they actually move in comparison to a small base ship when doing a one forwards for example.

A video on range bonuses for special weapons would be nice. I played with Autblasters this thursday for the first time in 2.0 and it apparently has a range 1 bonus. I haven't checked Rules Reference yet, but there you have it. A new idea.

i have a question: if i have a docked ship in the carrier with deadman's switch. when the carrier is destroy, what effect is activated first? deadman's or emergency deployment? great video!

In general, when you have things that are occurring simultaneously, you get to decide the order. In the rules for what happens when a ship is destroyed, we are told that any effect that triggers when a ship is destroyed (Dealt its last damage card) is resolved immediately, which should by default mean that you could handle emergency deployment and Deadman's Switch in any order you like. However, the timing is a little more specific than that. Emergency deployment is actually handled "before the carrier is removed from the play area," which is at the end of that initiative tick. So in actuality, Deadman's Switch must necessarily happen before you get the chance to emergency deploy. It gets even better for the Scum player. Let's say the YV-666 was blown up by a TIE swarm. If it was the first of three initiative 1 Academy Pilots that got the kill, the other two wouldn't get a chance to shoot, even if they could have the Nashtah Pup in arc, because the Pup isn't placed until after all initiative 1 shots are fired.

They have changed it to where if the docking ship performs a maneuver that overlaps its carrier, it can dock then in the activation phase.
