Just a bit of clarification. An ionized ship can be coordinated, but the only action it can perform by being coordinated is a focus action. If it already performed a focus action it can't perform a second focus action, but it was still successfully coordinated.

But it's a defender and you grt a free lock from a 3 to 5 move anyway

Hey, love your video. I have a question, what happens if I Ionize a separatist ship that is parked on an asteroid?

Under the Ion rules there is a clarification point that states "Ships cannot use abilities that trigger from an ionized ship revealing its dial". The component of the "Open: Grappling Struts" ability that causes the execute maneuver to be skipped depending on the move is triggered by an "After you reveal your dial" clause. As a result this ability cannot be used by the Ionized ship and the Ionized ship would execute the Ion Maneuver during step two potentially landing off the rock. Ionization doesn't affect snapshot.
