Thanks for the vlog and information. Thank goodness my homie has already left Seattle for good, before the covid lockdown started, so he does not ever have to go through this issue. It's truly hard to find trustworthy handyman, plumber, electrician, contractors all around and glad you found it and thanks for also sharing contacts. I shall pass the contact to my homie since he still have some friends who are in Seattle.

It sounded like you did not leave with your homie the way you put it.

Thanks for the reply :) I don't live in the USA but have visited my homie once in Seattle when he was still living there. @@yukuhana
I live in Toronto, and have a semi-detached house. The same situation happened to me before, but the situation was harder to resolve than yours because my sewage line was made of clay pipes, not PVC pipes (70+ years old pipes) and tree roots grew into the cracks and over the years, totally blocked the sewage line. I had to choice to to break open the concrete and replace all the pipes into PVC pipes. Cost me a fortune, and yes, it did take some experiences to learn to select the right contractors who did not cut corners or extort/ scam. I had to fix the same problems 3 times in 6 years, and finally was able to address the problem completely. This is something that one has to pay great attention when buying a new or old house- do they have the PVC pipes installed and not clay pipes, if not, discount the house by +$30,000.

I live in Boston and had to fix a sewage back up in toilet for a pre-1900 era colonial house. The crew dug out rocks and dirt 4 to 5 feet under from basement to the street to replace the original clay pipes for 55 feet of PVC pipes. The cause was the tree roots grew into the clay pipes. I wonder why your plumber did not use a drain snake to detect the blockage that took you 6 years to resolve the problem. For peace of mind, it certainly was a costly project. Luckily, insurance covered a half of the cost. I also cut down a nearby huge twin maple tree and brightened up the whole street.
