I enjoy using tani otoshi and drop ipon seanagi followed through with usually kata getame in my Jujitsu class against bigger and heavier opponents. Great sacrifice moves for everyone. Domo.

The Drop Ippon Seoi Nage was great. I know of a wrestling takedown like that but it seems to be of a higher skill level. So it's great to be able to use the Drop Ippon Seoi Nage instead.

Your videos are awesome, I’m an overhooker too 😂 the second technique is new to me I think but it makes perfect sense as a `deep half guard’ from standing throw. Keep up the great work!

Very dangerous skill because takedown failed bottom position

Deep half is one of my favorite sweeps, escapes, attacks, etc. I love the concept. And Yoko Guruma feels just like it to me. Thanks for the comment!

Good ideas. I have always found the sag headlock to work really well on bigger guys, too.
@tritacacademy Жыл бұрын
Sag is a cool takedown, but if you lose control of the head and the opponent is a lot bigger than you, you're screwed. We teach it with a pinch headlock grip, but only with that grip.

Can you do the tani otoshi and yoko guruma if your opponent has the underhook/inside position? If it is possible it would be good to see video demo

As a Judoka and a Shodan Black Belt in Judo, this is good and we also cross train Traditional Japanese Ju Jitsu with strikes at our Club so keep it up good stuff. She's cute and good 👍

0:47 Tani Otoshi and Tai Otoshi Same but different
@tritacacademy Жыл бұрын
Right they're different techniques, but you can do Tai Otoshi from the back as well, but sometimes a bit more challenging for smaller fighters against bigger opponents, so we didn't use it.

@@tritacacademy Thanks for the reply. I've seen a lot of "jujitsu instructors" who just responds "i do japanese jujitsu".

lol sorry for the late reply, but yes there’s many people out there who can’t back up their lineage. I’m definitely not a traditional martial artist, but I know and can prove my roots :)

No they're not the same. One throw is a forward and the other is a sacrifice to the rear

... not sure I said they were the same? Did I miss something?
