I find it works better using less destroyers, i run mine in groups of 3 in inverse V formation. Put some torpedo eclipse docked at them as bombard and launch them when needed. (Unless they fixed Ai behaviour for destroyers so if they have docks they act like carriers e.g. launching when the appropriate targets comes in range)

The thing is, if you have torpedo Eclipse at your disposal, one is better of using those to kill capitals, just like I show in the clip. Also, there is the issue of destroyers not be able to provide auto repairs (or repairs for that matter) for their asign fighters.

@@ragnos28 Yeah but like you say to rearm eclipse assigned to destroyers are a pain in the ass which is why I only manually launch them when needed. Like an oh shit button to save my destroyers. But I tend to run resupply ships in near by sectors anyway so ships generally do go rearm.

@@liammorris1018 My "oh shit button" are LTs and mines, like in 14:45. Imo, carriers are the only ship types that make sense to asign fighters to, not worth it for destroyers.

Trouble with A.I is you can't seem to get them to aim for Turret hardpoints, if you can hit the graviton turrets on the K its a piece of cake to finish off. 1 Osaka with 3 split L plasma cannons and some flak for fighter defence can rip the hell out of a K in short order, even the A.I does well with it.. but most other ships the A.I seems to be terrible for getting the main battery lined up, behemoth seems to be the worse.

I am dissapointed of the AI in 7.0, i expected too much. Still no use of destroyers main gun, still clumping together, and i bet that M's landing on a carrier still takes ages.😢

Yeah, like I said, I'm just happy if they no longer do the "mating" dance. 🤤 The AI...I say this is about the best that we are gone get. What was the saying....if something can be fixed don't worry about it, if something can't be fixed, there is no point in worrying about it. 🤓 I think we are in the second hypothesis.🧐

most of it gets fixed when weapon ranges are increased like in VRO. vanilla weapon ranges are so short the AI cant pathfind close enough range to fire

@@ginjaedgy49 Ah yes, this is something i have noticed with VRO, long range bombardment seems to be rather simple for A.I with the longer engagement ranges.

I think in the new Update you can Board the Xenon K Ships and fly them youself. I hope that now it is possible.

I remember when they implemented Xenon boarding in X3 back in 2007 something. Everyone in community was so exited, before people find out the cost of such an operation. It was the most hardcore thing in X3, to board a Xenon I

I m realtiv new to the game and still looking for coast effectiv ways to deal with xenon I s and stations. I find it realy anoying the the "ai" is unable to stay out of turret range or get in position best suited for the ship. While the Xenon seem to be much better at it. My solution for Ks and Xenon fighter swarns is the Odysseus (compact ,flak turrets for 360°, M Slot for Ship) and 2 Pegasus. 3-4 Odysseus are enough. I fly the Pegasus myself to make a bomb run on approching Ks or Ks in the sector. One run K goes boom. Back to ship and repeat. Still struglling with I's and stations ... I ve a question and would be happy if someone could answer it. I saw many posts that the ai cant handle the xenon and is losing sector after sector. Its just my second start in the game and the ai in my games so far suffers from xenon and lost 2 sectors on the whole map but overall dont realy have any probs with the xenon. Even the raid party 2 Ks 1 I dont stay long alive but hurts the faction it attacks quit a bit. So is there a timer or somthing when they stop skirmishing and go full on war ?

Xenon tend to send an I + 3-4 Ks and escorts, when those are destroyed, they send another group and so on, that is about as full war as the xenon ever gone get.

He he...part of what make the Syn a better destroyer is also the fact that they can take more punishment when they will inevitable derp out.😜
