Love selling spaceweed from my free transporters getting like 1.5mil per run from the 3. Found that the capital transporters are way to slow on routes and the police finds your product so easy. While the other transporters are fast and don't get stopped

Really good video. Thanks a bunch. Please cover the weapons of X4 Foundations as well. Looking at the weapons you can’t tell what weapons do what to an enemy ship in terms of damage. In previous X games each weapon would display in the information section how much damage it did to shields or hulls. This game only show how much power or MW it uses to fire in the encyclopedia. Unless I’m missing something I’m a bit confused. Price and class like MK1 and MK2 are partially descriptive but.... you get my meaning. Thanks much. Loving this game.

After rebirth I was highly sceptical and waited until gents such as yourself started producing this sort of content. After falling in love years and years ago with X3 can say I have immediately purchased X4 on the back of your first impressions video; certainly not disappointed. Keep up the videos and the good work. This X4 game surely is a foundation (a great one) for many great mods, expansions and additions that will now surely follow over the coming years.

Urgh - youre testing my memory. Maybe originally yes - the DLCs have significantly expanded things (this title is one where the DLCs are actually worth it and good value for money imo). I have fond memories of the base X4 game - the DLCs now have turned it into something much, much larger. Just the base game is bigger than you think..... throw in a few mods, a dlc or two.... and games with a similar scope (not all) to star citizen have existed in the form of games like X4 for ages. @@rubenlopezusa

What is the significance of the hexagons next to each good on the map screen? 1:38 Is that distance or an indication of the profit, something else? A 2 hex good vs a 3 hex good indicates what?

Something i just found out, in the trading menu where the slider only goes to 5, you can manually type 10 (or 25) or what ever and you will see that many sale/purchase offers

One thing i noticed is that you dont seem to need satellites to get updated trade information in some places. I spent the last 2-3 hours setting up a sat network only to realize that stations not in them are updating. Not all stations on the map will update though without a satellite. Is this due to relations with factions? Can you tell me what satellites do other then give vision and update stations and if they are necessary near all stations you want to trade with?

I cannot autotrade for some reason: My ship (it's the starting ship) is equipped with a trading computer and has a pilot. But when I want to order it to autotrade there is no such option in the menu. There is only "explore", "collect cargo drops", "move", "update trade offers", etc. But no Autotrade option. Do you have any idea how to fix this?

I seem to be forced to put satellites up everywhere to get updated trade prices. It's a major effort and seems silly and expensive. Is there a better or easier way to try to keep your trade "intel" up to date ? I don't see satellites up in this video, so are you working with old prices all the time?

I've worked my way up to a medium and a large cargo ship the medium can travel the Super Highway and doesn't seem to ever get stopped when carrying space feel through Argon my large ship though can't seem to travel on the highway I'm a little worried about that one. Auto Trade doesn't seem to be very profitable. Has anyone experimented with the ramifications of destroying police vessels or alienating a specific faction like argon for example.

MIght you make a small video on setting up the T16000M or Mouse and Keyboard as I keep trying this with almost no success, I have so... much of a better time in Elite or Star Citizen with the mouse and keyboard and even the T16000. Great video by the way.

how do i set a ship to automine in a sector? ive got a medium mining ship, with defense turrets and mk 2 mining laser. it has a full crew, but the context menu in empty space gives no option to automine. what gives!?

after 7 ish hours i discovered that, yes, for some obtuse reason autotrading works by right clicking in space and autotrading can work as a default task if you have a 3 star pilot. but automining ONLY works as a default task and does not work as right clicking in space. total inconsistency.@Tu'Orb

I've had no luck with auto-trading so far, they seem to just consistently lose money for me. I spent hours placing satellites at every station in a large chunk of the map, I also have 500,000 credits for the AI to play with for trading, the commander of the trader is skill level 3, but no matter if I pick galaxy or local auto trading they always buy and sell at a loss. I've given up for now and just sold the trader to further upgrade my main fighter but hopefully I can get it working well in the future

Each satellite has a coverage of 30 km around it iirc.

Advanced Satellites in each sector should give you up-to-date data on trade. At least that's what they did in X2 and X3

You don't really need any kind of squadrons to protect you, this is not ED, pirates ant interdict you, so all you need is exit the station, turn on the Travel mode with Shift-1 and cruise safely through space. You may see pirates try to speak to you and drop cargo, but you can jut ignore them and not even answer, will save you a couple of keyboard presses, just go to your target station and safely sell wat you want. Trading is pretty much risk free because of the travel mode, or anything in fact is risk free because of the travel mode,

I was talking about protection for your NPC ships. These fairly frequently get attacked and destroyed. :) You can of course tell them to run, but they don't always make it.

U need to find all parts of the Sinza device first. And it would be Shift+4. Shift+1 is the "Fast-Travel-Speed" Mode. If its applied correct you get...well....faster and your cockpit gets brownish in colour.

I just don't get the reason for the big system hex shapes on the map, why have them hexagonal if you leave giant spaces between them. The whole reason for choosing that shape is to pack as many as you can in the smallest space possible.

Auto-traders can be very dangerous. I let them trade freely as galaxy traders and they managed to ruin my reputation with the Argon, at -13. It will be a huge pain in the ass now to improve it, when i can't even get any missions. A lot of micromanagement in this game.

You have many filters to deactivate nearly every info you don't need in any given situation. When you get into fleets and stations you will see that this map is a real masterpiece. You can even set multiple automated trade orders per ship. Prioritized by ware or sector. Even change the order queue later on!
