We got a carrier, but what fighter should we put in it? With what guns?

I recently introduced the concept of a "light carrier" in my game. Its basically a Behemoth with a dozen Pulsars assigned to it. I choose the Behemoths because it has 4 S slots and therefore can launch it's fighters rather quickly. The Pulsars are armed with 2x bolt repeaters and 4x blast mortars. The main role of such a light carrier is Gate security and they mostly work in pairs and (very important) a close by placed hostile detection beacon. OOS these combos produce very good results if you react to the enemy detection in a timely manner. Especially the Pulsars erarned the nickname "K-melter"

I've always thought about the Behemoth in this way but have never used it like that. I actually used a Supply ship in this manner, the Monitor. The ships would just doc repair and rearm if needed for missiles. It was effective but then i got the Tokyo.

Would have thought that the Pulsar, OOS with 4 lances and 2 Ions would murder everything before it gets swatted.

It probably would! I just like to jump from ship to ship so in sector that set up would be death for those ships. AI gets real dumb the closer you get lol

am having truble getting the fighters to leave the carrier anyone have any ideas?

What’s is their current command? Defend, attack, intercept?

If you like the nodan you should check out the mod nodan Plus.. it adds two more guns and one more Shield.. I think it's pretty much the best fighter for swarm tactics and pretty damn cheap(from alliance of the word) you can build three of them compared to one chimera.. but unfortunately they are nothing but Cannon and the fodder... Cuz the AI is stupid! 😒

So far in my many tests with the carrier the Nodan’s make quick work for any S or M size ship. That said I haven’t posted the new video cause carrier combat perplexes me. Something I will go over for sure.

If you like the nodan as much as I do you should really check out the mod nodan Plus it makes a good cheap fighter slightly better by adding two more guns and one more Shields.. and it's pretty dirt cheap to buanaay so I don't even know if it's worth a building ?🤔 I can build almost 10 of them to one tornado which is a modded chimera with a whole hell of a lot more Shields they are pretty fast so they avoid getting hit especially by most missiles... really good for taking out Capital ships with thermal disintegrators not as good against small fast fighters post lasers are better for that that is where the nodan comes in .. 70 nodan plus 30 tornadoes backed by a serenity vanguard carrier which is a modern raptor that adds two additional xl Shields is a pretty powerful force and the ship name is the valkyrie which I think is an appropriate name for a carrier ✌️😎 if you understand the mythology of it..
