Jesus... what a battle. I'm surprized you get such a good gaming experience. It would be nice to know the specs of your gaming rig and the mods that you installed. I've played X series for years, mostly with just a few minor mods, but in your video there are a lot of ships that I've never seen.

My PC is a few years old. i7-9700K 32GB plus nVidia 1070 Ti. My machine did struggle. And there were far far more enemies. I had to degrade my detail a lot. The game is some time ago. But for sure I had Ossian Rader (that was the big enemy and a strong recommendation). I used T1 and T3 ships. And the better explosions & smoke mod. At the start of the war there were so so many ships.

You don't need expensive rig to run this game smooth, only need a decent one. I have an I5 9400 with nvidia 1080 + intel ssd12g8h / 32 rams and no lag at all.

@@slevinsleven2775 Even the poster of this video had a proper lag in that fight. With so many ships and explosions going on, its not suprising at all. Even though he didnt show his fps, i guess in the latter half of the fight it should be in the single digit area, if you look at the projectiles. My own pc is a little bit weaker then the one from the OP, but its still rather laggfree, if i wont so such a big fight.

​@@shavanna4295 The important part for this game isn't how powerful you pc is in total, its more how powerful is the single core performance of your cpu. Thats why an i5 can easily compete with an i7. The game has no (or cery little) multithreading and thus most performance is capped by 1 core. I only have a laptop for example. Though my cpu is pretty powerful for work and multithreaded games (16 cores) i get shit performance in X4 even in early game because my single cores are too slow. That is, even though my laptop can run Hogwarts Legacy at 1440p mid-high with constant 60fps.

New CPU incoming ... 7800X3D. Can't wait to either continue my own savegame (if I can import it) as I do have three system fleets guarding Ossian jumpgates. Wonder what rig do you have. It's awesome to watch. (Still: do yourself a favor and replace vanilla explosions with better ones. It's worth it). ^^

This 6 year old game has actual full scale-wars with ACTUAL large fleet deployments. Meanwhile, a "war" in Starfield is just you and a companion raiding a single enemy ship while having an arcade-like battle in space, all while NPCs talk about it like it's a full-scale war. Even X4 Foundations has better space battles than Shytefield.

Great video. Specially considering it's your first / only video. Would had loved to see more about how you got to this end war. Maybe your next playthrough there would be some highlights to share. I have X2 and X3. Favorite is still modded X2. X3 was not really my cup of tea. So never vent for X4. The high price tag, considering X3 felt as a back step for me, did not lure me in. So if you don't mind, would say a few words about pros and cons for picking this version of the X series? Are the DLC needed/worth it? If not here, then add it to the video info.

Nice battle! I've blocked ORA in their home sector after finish of cleaning in entire galaxy. They are really powerful especially with Protector ship mods. I saw railguns. Are you have installed VRO?

I just started getting into this game at the start of the new year. Ive played on and off between the new releases of the year so far. Still not crazy far into the game and learning every day but i absolutely love it. I am playing on my steam deck in desktop mode though and I am not sure if I can get mods to run on this thing since I have no idea how the OS works lol. the file explorer on this thing baffles me tbh lol

Most mods do come via the steam workshop, so it might. I think only the starwars mods require direct file access though

No; It was part of the ossian rader mod. It was a battleship added to the split. The bright green is a skin I found during a battle :). The Ossian Rader mod provides the enemy army

what exactly does "endgame" mean? how many hours into the game is this? feels like i have to restart every 100 hours because i messed up one thing or the other. i can't seem to figure out how to play the damn game and btw: congrats to 1 sub xD

I'm afraid I do not have the actual save anymore. But the ingame date was: 825-02-14 as you can see in the clips. It did have 7 heavy shipyards and at least 35 supporting stations. I cannot find any screenshot showing networth and such. Based on other savegames, and some math, I think the savegame must have been about 150 hours in. (The years go slower when the game progresses. Bigger universes and all ;P) I find that setting up small bases with iron refineries or silicon refineries really already help a lot with improving relations with the other races and make you grow income and reputation. And you really start making money once you start selling ships. My biggest-ever shipyard was not in this save, but was needed to terraform that Cinder impossible world. You needed sooo much ice and drones. But that's not a fancy movie clip ;P I think endgame really does mean when you have full market dominance and nobody can in any way challenge you ;) That's why I like the ossian raders. They stil fight back in the end :)

This was a while back. Before the release of cradle of humanity and the pirate one. So must have been 4.x -- I'm currently building up for another run, growing my stations, getting the achievements and then bringing in the horde ;)

Yes. Ossian Rader, plus explosions. Ossian raders are the big enemy. Normal races don't build such a big fleet. Nor does Xenon.

Why no S/M ships support?

I did have S/M ships. You'll see fleets moving around in clips. Also I blow up a base in the end with them. But the firepower of the T3 ships is quite big, so their survivability was low vs the capital ships
