I believe xal'atath is the 5th old god depicted in the nerubian murals. She is something like god and jesus. She is the harbinger of her own self. Also I believe in the whisper of il'gynoth that says "her heart is a crater, and we have filled it". What if despite the titans efforts and despite aman'thul ripping y'sarj off the planet, the old gods had already managed to corrupt azeorth to its core, turning her into some kind of old god and all the voices people hear, the radiant song, is actually a deception, azeroth calling us to free her, so that she will become her true self, that void tentacly planet we saw on star augur aetreus encounter. I kinda dont like that theory though, because it would mean that the titans are kinda right, and I dont want them to be right. I want them to be the bad guys

I think us losing would be a fantastic move by Blizzard. Can't wait to see how the story goes, and I honestly want to know how she ended up in the blade. These next 3 expansion are setting up to be some of the best ones we've seen.

Honestly the idea that Knifu is the right (or maybe left given characterization) hand of a Void Lord is cool. But the subtle implication that this in turn means the Old Gods are essentially part of WoWs vision of Chaos Undivided is... interesting. They are a middle ground among the Void Lords serving not necessarily any Void Lord but Void. There is potential there. Let's see if they play it out fun.

It just occurred to me. Magni is a big gem now. Is he also going to turn dark when the crystal in Hallowfall turns dark? He could be used as our indication of what is happening to the world-soul.

I assumed she'd be a herald of the Void Lords (like the Silver Surfer) or a Void Lord herself. Blizzard has spent too much time building Xal'atath up just to throw her away as a raid boss. Also, I made this comment before watching all of the video. Great minds think alike! Or something like that.

I think 2:14 is a pretty good guess how Xal'atath really looks. It makes more sense for her to look more "Voidy" than "Tentacly".

What I genuinely want from War Within and Midnight is for both to end on Pyrrhic victories, Like sure we end by killing Xally, but then we look and oh boy look there that's a void lord

At least I hope that "Echo of Khadgar" will help Azeroth defenders in Midnight. Also, loosing Dalaran, I believe that it will be restored in next expansion on its original place.

That's what I thought and led me to the notion that this would mean the Old Gods are basically daemon princes of Chaos Undivided which could be rad as hell if they play it up.

Nyarlathotep in LoveCraft is very similar to Xal’s purpose. They are the herald of the “outer gods”. Blizz been following LoveCraft lore since day 1 so it’s not surprising. Last Titan ends with Azeroth ( Azathoth) awakening. Which in LC lore ends the universe… hmmmm sounds like the reorigination theories many have had..

Also Nyarlathotep uses human language, unlike the outer gods. Much like Xal. She is also the outer gods messenger, which is basically the same thing as a harbinger… tell me again where C’thylla is even remotely close to having those characteristics. Because clearly you have only read one LoveCraft book if the Nyarlathotep references aren’t evident. Not to mention their dad is literally AZATHOTH…

@@TheOriginalCameron Nyarlathotep literally is the outer gods herald. Which is another word for harbinger. Not to mention Azathoth is their father. C’thylla has no relation to being a harbinger or Azathoth (Azeroth). Plus Nyarlathotep uses the other outer god’s cults/worshippers in their absence, like Xal has been doing with previous old gods. Also both are known to commune with humans AND speak their language. Not many other deities even speak human languages. C’thylla doesn’t. You sound like you only know about C’thulu and think C’thylla is a deep cut that nobody knows, yet it made 0 sense 🤡

I have 2 theories that I think will be of internet to you. First, I think that the wow universe is not mate of 6 cosmic forces but of 3 sets of bonded pairs (think ionic bonding from science) with a negative and positive polarity. I think flip side of the same coin is a bad analogy because both sides of a coin are the same thing; but think of it like a black hole and white hole from science or a worm hole or ever a figure 8 or infinity symbol with each side being distinct and separate but inextricably linked. This allows entities to move from one to the other. This give you life and death, order and disorder, and light and void. Entities are able to move between the two that are linked. So sargarus became a “titan” of disorder. The connection between the shadowlands and life. And the changing of Naaru or the void crystal. Changes always happen along these bonded pair lines. Second. This is what we will see over this expansion. The blood of the old gods is void incarnate having mixed with life and decay giving it the solidity needed to exist in the universe. Xalatath as the harbinger is trying to bring void into the physical world. We will go to nerubia to try and stop her and will learn about the blood and it’s power but will be too late to stop her. But we will stop her from getting more from that location. What we won’t know is that the goblins have been working with her and harvesting sarintie and other forms of old god blood - they have mastered this as they have mastered azerite retrieval. We will go to the goblin city to stop them but again we will be too late. This is when BAM. We find out that Azeroth isn’t even her short term plan, that she was gathering this blood the change the tides of the void battle on k’aresh. We will go there to stop her and side with the elementals, but it will be to late and the battle between arcane order and void shadow will be lost… and k’aresh world souls will be born a void “Titan” which will open the gates for the void at Azeroth. I think the last boss of the ethereal raid will be k’aresh and we will loose and get ported out of there as the world soul is born and made manifest. Midnight will be us fighting this void Titan and the void incursion losing until the titans show up. Last, I think that the shadowlands line where they are talking about the banished one, which at the time seemed like the jailer was actually talking about either xal or her void lord. This is what the jailer was trying to stop.

@@SamA-xi8qj in all instances we lost important landmarks and NPCs I’d argue loosing faction leaders was more detrimental to the world than kadgar dying and a floating city getting destroyed If I’m not mistaken upwards of 80% of the nightelf population died the day the tree was burned

To work out who Xal'atath is, we simply have to look at the influences Blizzard takes from so greedily with the Void Lords; Lovecraft's Outer Gods. Xal'atath is Nyarlathotep.

@@ScarlettSpitfyrecheck again. Almost everything to do with The Old Gods has been a loose adaptation of the same concepts and characters that Lovecraft created with his mythos. Blizz just tweaks a name here or there. But the concepts are so similar that it isn’t far-fetched to look to Lovecraft’s mythos to get ideas about where Blizz may take the story. Even concepts such as The Void have been explored in Lovecraft mythos stories. They just use different phrasing and descriptions. But Lovecraftian lore is all about different dimensions and distant civilizations that aren’t hiding on other planets but in entirely separate planes of existence. The concept of different pantheons of Gods existing in different layers of existence both above and beneath our reality is a Lovecraftian concept.

@@qlasalle We have 4 old gods that clearly manifested in this world. It's the void lords that can't manifest themselves into this world. And whatever we think Azeroth is or isnt ok with I believe more or less comes from Magni, who very possibly could have been getting played by Xalatath (Although purging that Earthen chamber of void kind of says otherwise)
