This breaks the heart of a stoic old man. It reminds me of the story about Art Garfunkel, when he helped a blind friend that he convinced to go to college. He taught him his way around campus and to navigate the subway system platforms and stops. One day, he stood close to his friend as he waited for him. Once he became aware, his friend smiled and greeted him with the nickname he had given Art. "Hello Darkness, my old friend...". He shared the story with Paul Simon and the rest, as they say, is history...

This touches deeply for me.. My dad lost his eyesight last year. Though he's a very strong man I do see moments where it takes a deep toll on him. He's a very independent person since childhood and to see him now like this, breaks my heart. Thank you for sharing your story here...deeply appreciate it. Love and hugs from India, Shillong.

WOW. Haven't heard such a moving song in such a long time. Beautiful! I remember meeting you all years ago when you were opening for LIGHTS, and then through 96x at The Norva. We had a little private acoustic show backstage and it's still one of the most memorable moments of my life - simply because this music makes me think of nothing but the moment. Captivated. 💛

After "Half Life" I figured I'd hit the gym a little more, punch the bag a little more, and not cry during another X Ambassadors video. Then, they just walked right up and sucker punched my emotional state of being with this one. Halfway through the video, I realized that the pianist is blind. Wow. Got me again.

What a beautiful story. The video says a lot in of itself. I turned the lights off getting ready to go to bed and I realized, what if I was never able to turn the light back on again. I wonder if Casey gets sick of the songs about him? Like, he's living with this disability, but he has to keep hearing about how his sight has affected everyone else around him. I realize his blindness is something that everyone who knows him reflects on, and has to take into consideration, but I just wonder if it ever feels awkward to him.
