Hey Xander, I’m no guru but my denesuline aunties taught me how to make bannock over the fire in the NWT. When camping I find it’s easiest to mix/knead the dough in the Ziplock bag, then make little dough balls, flatten, and poke little holes in the bannock patties with a knife. Fry in oil/butter then eat warm with jam/butter/honey. Super simple & fucking delicious

I only just discovered you Xander and I'm 5 videos into the evening back home in Australia. You're one super humble and talented guy. Patient and appreciative of all things life. Excellent cinematographer. What kills me is the fact that you're doing this on your own (ie the cinematography & video editing) - there is alot planning, intuition and resourcefulness involved in your presentation of each adventure - some folks can easily miss out the fact that you have to capture each key frame separately with your cameras... Like getting out of bed, making the fire, cutting and collecting each piece of wood, what ingredients you will be using to cook your meal, or arriving to a newfound spot by the lake. Hats off mate, quality work. I terribly miss my simple road trips and hikes overseas (usually in Northern Territories like Canada and United States being my favourites). Watching your videos reminds me the joys of the great outdoors. That one day road trip and hiking of 7 mini trails along the way from Banff to Jasper, Alberta back in 2019, that was done with a car though! Watching you doing this the hardcore and natural way - it encourages me go that extra mile of adventuring outdoors - to one day take a month off for vacation, fly over to Canada, do some sort of survival/camping course and achieve a fraction of what you're doing right now. Simply amazing. Thank you and a big congratulations Xander, keep up the incredible & educational content (brilliant cooking and sense of humour btw - like that friend of yours in 'Solo Winter Camping in Primitive Shelter' episode) and continue to inspire many more folks out there who desperately needs an adventure since COVID hit the world!

@@XanderBudnick Your most welcome! Aww man, I can't wait. Sadly the borders ain't open yet in Australia - we'll probably be able to travel again in 2022. It was brilliant! I actually got a quick story to share with ya Xander and I'll never forget this: Sunwapta Falls was where I encountered a black bear walking towards me on the trail back to the carpark! Thankfully a park ranger was behind the bear while keeping distance and giving me instructions on what to do - I made my way down the steep slope of the hill as instructed to avoid confrontation. The bear passed and the ranger continued to follow as part of safety and protocol. I got back to the carpark safely and also caught up to a couple that I encountered earlier on my hike. They were kind to warn the ranger that I was the last person on the trail. Moments later we heard a gun shot in the distance...! Anyways watching you and your close call encounter with wildlife (like the moose and calf episode) instantly reminded me of that brief adrenaline rush that you get in these situations. May you continue to stay safe out on your next adventure!

I don't like camping and I am not really an outdoor type, but your video make me wish I was. So beautiful, and you make it look fun if not easy. I will have to watch some more of your videos, very nicely done.
