My brain not compute how you touch strings and they make the most amazing sounds out of a black box. Mind. Blown.

I'm using the Mission Engineering Gemini II modeler cabs and they are AMAZING - truly give you that thumpy, "amp in the room" tone and feel - but I will definitely check out the Bose. (And that is a COOL riff, btw!)

I own a first-gen S1 Pro and love it, but I want to inject a touch of reality into the conversation: It has good battery life, and you can hide it under a chair at acoustic jams. A pair makes a crystal-clear mini-PA for the farmer’s market. BUT: it’s only got a 6” woofer with a light cone, 3 small mid/tweeters and 160 watts. It’s almost as accurate as a mid-priced 6” or 8” powered recording monitor, but it will NOT keep up with a healthy drummer in a rehearsal space, or give you the punchy amp-in-the-room feel you’d get from a Katana 50. Also, it farts out extra early if you’re playing loud downtuned metal or bass guitar through it, as you’d expect.

Any suggestions for something to keep up with drummer?

Nice, I’m currently playing a mutieffects unit into powered monitors so this would be a step up.

I was thinking about getting the Fender FRFR amp Untell I saw this video, I have a Bose S1 Pro Plus, I plugged in My Fender Tone Master Pro And I Was Shocked! It Sounds Great! Great Video ! Thanks, Don't need to buy anything now! The FR hidden secret is out! Bose S1 PRO PLUS! Great For My Solo Gig!

This is cool. I think I am gonna invest in the Fender Tone Master Pro and Fender Tone Master FR-12 powered cab. So that is doing the similar thing like your talking about here. But yeah you are right Amps are gonna end up being a purist thing amongst players that just wanna do the wall of amps cause they think that looks cool.

I just ordered the older one! To use at home with my hx stomp and also for busking at some point

You know that new FRFR cab from Spark? Ola Englund and others have said it sounds too woofy. On a video review from another KZbinr, I commented about this woofiness and said I wished that it was designed better to dial it back. I personally think they’re just using cheap speakers and components inside that’s likely created that woof. As Ola said, those things are basically a giant speaker and won’t respond like an actual cab or combo amp that can be physically adjusted. Spark is relying on their modeling software to tune the FRFR, and that’s not enough for its FRFR to eliminate that wood. Enter this Bose you’re showing, which is essentially the same type of product done right - aside from the better quality components and speakers, it’s the EQ they’ve physically built into the speaker that are going to ensure you have your guitar tone dialed in just the way you want. To those guys who thought I’m clueless about FRFR, here you go! If Bose could build an EQ into their FRFR, so can Positive Grid. Clearly Bose sees the value of doing so. FRFR speakers have very wide applications and appeal. For guitar players of metal, hard rock, punk, and other genres, you generally want that chug to be tight, not woofy. Adding a few EQ knobs onto an FRFR speaker can just feels logical instead of relying on whatever software and instrument might get pumped into it.

Ditto for the Headrush FRFR112. Woofy low end, needs a high-pass filter in front to tighten it up.

When you run your QC into the S1 Pro+ you can set to Instrument level and set that to FRFR in the app. Is that the way you set it up?

Can I connect this to a Focusrite audio interface and use it like a monitor speakers using Neural DSP standalone plugins? Does it provide a flat response like a monitor speaker?

I just got this....no clue how to use the wireless system with my Kemper amp. Do you happen to know how I'd do this?
@MikebyBike2 ай бұрын
You just plug the wireless receiver into guitar , then hold the volume button in until u can select “insert”. Your Kemper is an in and out cable to trs that plugs in same channel as you’re using for wireless on the S1

I use this same PA to play my backing tracks and then I plug my modeler into a Fr12 1000w power cab with good success. I never found the bose sounded as good when paired with my pedal board etc.

Not gonna replace amps or cabs anytime soon IMO.
@DISSONVNT Жыл бұрын
Think it's pretty late for that seeing as majority of modern metal bands do not use full stacks anymore live, they either run straight to the house or have power amps with their modeller running into their cab of choice. It's the smarter thing to do, less variables, easier to lug around.
@DISSONVNT Жыл бұрын
@anthonybencomo8577 nah let's not go that far, there's always going to be demand for physical amps, you're just not really gonna see it being used live. It'll mostly be a studio and hobby thing.
