Hey SeaWorld, THIS is the way to watch whales. In the wild, living with their pods.
@CatieCass3 жыл бұрын
The whales in Sea World are living with their pods. They're not separated from their families.
@exmakela3 жыл бұрын
@@CatieCass You are SO wrong. Except for those that were born to an orca living in SeaWorld, they are not related. They are taken from different groups in various parts of the world. They do not even speak the same language. That is fact. Ask the center for whale research if you need to verify that. SeaWorld will tell you what they want you to hear. Not all truth.

@@CatieCass most of the orcas that have been captured come from different ecotypes and have different social constructs and languages. Most of them barely understand each other BECAUSE they use different dialects. This ends up with the orcas constantly raking and biting each other. So no, orcas at sea world don’t have their pods. It’s an artificial assemblage of how sea world wants them to be.
@AnaHallie3 жыл бұрын
Corky and Lolita have been in captivity for over half a century. Lolita is from the Puget Sound Southern Resident orca population, which was decimated by captures in the sixties and seventies. They are now listed as critically endangered. Her mother, Ocean Sun, is estimated to be between eighty and ninety years old. They will probably never be reunited. Corky is a Northern Resident and member of the A-23 pod. Her sister, brother, niece and grand-nephews can still be seen roaming the coastal waters of British Columbia. What different lives they must lead.
@warrenpeterson60653 жыл бұрын
Those who live the west coast of British Columbia not only watch the Orca but live with the Orca. We share food stock such as salmon, halibut, etc. Our Orca live in tribes ... family tribes ... called pods ... just like humans. The Orca tribe hunts as a unit just like a human tribes hunted decades ago. We may not travel during the pandemic but our marine cousins ignore the warnings ... lol .. .and travel from Alaska to California.
@EquineMetalhead Жыл бұрын
These whales were so happy. That makes me happy, there were a bunch of males and females with their calves. Grandmas, grandpas, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grand kids, cousins, moms and dads. They were all together and they are all related. Orky ll, Lolita and Corky ll are southern resident orcas. Lolita is from Washington, Orky ll is from Canada and so is Corky ll. Orky is dead and the two females are still alive and in their fifties. Lolita is 54 and Corky is 58. And they both have tall proud dorsal fins. These whales were super active and having a whale of a time. Spyhopping, breaching, back breaching and lob tailing. This is how orcas should be seen. Now Seaworld is both good and bad, but when it comes to captivity, it’s wrong. This is how they should be seen, happy, together with their pods, in the wild.

It's actually not chlorine its salt water same as the ocean, however what they're kept in doesn't matter, where they're kept is the issue, the animals along with all wild animals belong in the wild, you cannot take a huge animal that swims hundreds of thousands of miles in any given month through the ocean and shove them in 10ish foot radius pool! I agree 10000% and maybe as they kill more trainers they will release and put into law that no whale may be taken from it's natural habitat
@cassidybridges50453 жыл бұрын
If they need to be rehabilitated then the NOAA should cut off a huge chunk of ocean to keep them while they are fixed and then release
