Danny is one of the greatest percussionists alive today, man. He inspired me to learn how to play. You're right, what he does is not easy to do, but he makes it look easy. That's a sign of a true pro. He's an incredible drummer, and I'd argue he's the backbone of Tool. I think a lot of their music is written to play around his drumming, when it's the other way around with most bands. Great reaction to a great video, bro. Thumbs up!

The time in the verse is a phrase of 33. You can break that down to 6-6-5-6-5-5 (easier to count IMO) or 12-11-10. Oh, and there’s no click track in their ears. They just go out and crush it every night.

I enjoyed when you commended Danny for keeping rhythm... Do you realize that he's the main driver of the crazy odd time signatures? Adam Jones (guitar) has said the reason he and Justin Chancellor (bass) don't move around the stage or jam out much is they're "too busy counting." 😂

Danny Carey is an outstanding percussionist, not just drummer. The mathematical tempo the band follows with each of their albums brings you consistent tempo changes. He is able to keep four limbs working….each with a different time sequence. He is absolutely ridiculous

Not sure if it's been stated but Danny, Adam and Justin all finish their parts then send it to Maynard and he then writes the lyrics.

XANNY... I think someone needs to tell you something about this particular band...the band is insane, did you know that the lyrics are written by Maynard after, try wrapping your head around this, after the music is written... Vicarious is by far my favourite track...it's about everyone having a fascination with death...but it is so eloquently written, it makes the whole idea of death seem absolutely beautiful. You just received a new subber brother. The rabbit hole you just jumped into will be impossible to exit...and that is a good thing. Enjoy.

what's amazing is during that sequence his right foot is on the high hat, left foot on the bass pedal, and each arm is playing a different sequence, all while adding an extra note to each hand after a few cycles. 4 limbs, 4 different rythyms. Impossible right? nope not for the octopus. Danny is the GOAT

You haven't and you will continue to not encounter a band with a better catalog of music, let alone better "outros." TOOL is their own genre. Enjoy the ride my friend. Love your enthusiasm. You want to hear TOOL at their ultimate best? Listen to, "Pushit," from the album, "Salival." The album is a collection of live tracks that was put out at a time when TOOL fans were hungry or, "salivating," for a new TOOL release so the band put together some live recordings, hence the album title: "Salival." Anyway, I HIGHLY recommend listening to the Salival version of Pushit. The song has 3 crescendos and Maynard really lets loose on vocals. It's an amazing song . Spiral out, keep going.
