Neil is a true craftsman. I've owned several neck thru BCRs in the 80s and 90s. I also owned one of his custom Teles. I currently own a Templar Series Genesis that I will never part with. It's basically a bolt on version of the guitar you have with a pointy 6 inline headstock and no fret markers. It also has a preamp and phase switches. It plays like a dream. I'm 65 and I can rock it! 😂

110% thought that was BC Rich from the thumbnail. I’ve got a ‘94 and ‘01 Jackson USA SL1, a couple Kiesel Vaders, and 5 nice Ibanez models, and it’s really hard for me to fathom something that compares to the USA Jacksons. Not at all detracting from your comment or arguing against your opinion, just stating that if that is true, I really want/need one.

thickening up the sound is cool when you play by yourself but in the mix, if you're playing with a drummer and a bass player. That clarity is what you want, and most the bass will be highpassed. Always go for a bright guitar if you're going to play anything high gain IMO

I'm dreaming of either a Genesis or Scythe bass, or Moser 10 to replace my Rickenbacker 360/12 which isn't the easiest to play with its 12 strings on its skinny neck. Unfortunately with the used market in the toilet, I'd still come up far short after selling everything I'm ambivalent about keeping, and am even struggling to sell gear I defintely want gone. Who knows, maybe the CNC series will be ready by the time these are in reach.

Incredible! I'd order it with those pickups. If I remember correctly, Dave asked DiMarzio to make these medium to medium high output. That should explain the amount of clarity you're hearing. And ya, the 7 string version is awesome down tuned, but they hold up very well with clean tones. Dave also plays jazz, so he could literally walk in a jazz gig with his Jacksons and hook them up to your grandpa's old Fender Twin with no issues. No, really. (He does own some Gibson semihollow guitars too I think.)

Kyle , very cool and informative video. I’ve not had the opportunity to demo Neil’s recent designs. I did have a BC Rich Bitch double neck in my possession for a couple of years when I owned a rehearsal studio where I lived also. To say that it was outstanding sonically is an understatement. as someone who plays a Jackson with extremely low action. A cnc guitar is guaranteed to be cut perfectly and all the measurements will be done to the micro meter. Then you can do all the fine details by hand. That s the perfect made guitar.
