I've got both and a valve index and reverb G2. The psvr2 missiles ahead of the quest. The quest only comes near the psvr2 if you plug it into a gaming pc. To be honest they are different products for different markets and I dont understand why people keep comparing them. Quest is low cost, cheap and cheerful VR which offers a decent experience. Psvr2 offers a high end experience on a par with pcvr.

I find even plugging it up to a pc the compression artifacts can be quite noticeable on occasion , it's not bad by any means but can distract on occasion, if a game comes out on both pc and playstation IL be getting it on playstation just to not have to deal with that tbh

@@weplayvrgames At the moment I would choose a psvr2 version of a game over pcvr every time due to the psvr2 sense controllers. The adaptive triggers and haptics are miles better than any other controller on pcvr and make games far more enjoyable, especially shooters.

@@rinkumultani6515 compare Saints & Sinners Chapter 2 which is not AAA, but very impressive on both Quest 2 and PSVR2, but the latter is the far superior version of the same game. According to Sony, there will still be many titles from third-party developers and indie studios. This is their strategy and it can work very well if they have the quality of an S&S. And there will probably be an Astrobot announced, we already know RE4, the supply is secured for now.

Those who can financially and also like mobile gaming with rather weak graphics should have both. Both complement each other. The PSVR2 offers the premium VR experience. Games like GT7, RE8 or Horizon are unique. Graphics play a big role in VR (for me). And you can now quickly and easily set up the PSVR2 somewhere else unlike the PSVR1. In any case, the VR experience is not comparable to Quest games and thankfully there is now finally a system that combines the graphical fidelity of a PCVR system with the accessibility of a console.

One thing that is good with psvr is not every game uses the sense controllers if my controllers need charging I use a wheel with gt7 or controller with stuff like Rez and Tetris , but that issue will be null and void when they release the controllers separate already have a dock and I do the same with dualsense just play till dead then swap from the dock

I would give it a tie when it comes to the display comparison. Both have advantages and disadvantages. If you value motion clarity over colors then the Quest will get a point. If you value color over motion clarity then the PSVR2 will get a point. The resolution comparison isn't an apples vs apples comparison. PSVR2 has less total subpixels than the Quest 2 because of the Pentile layout on the PSVR2 display. The brightness is set too high on the PSVR2 that causes the persistence to be too high. More motion blur. Not a fault of the PSVR2 hardware, but the motion reprojection algorithm isn't as good as in other VR headsets.

Comparing the PSVR 2 to the Quest 2 is blasphemous. The PSVR2 is superior it has better passthrough, better controllers, better headstrap, OLED screens that look clearer, and games look way better. It’s just superior it was released in 2023 so it has to be. Get the Quest 2 over the PSVR 2 only if it’s discounted and you are a casual vr user. Quest 2 is starting to show its age while PSVR2 is newer and can even compete with Quest 3

A lot of hype and fanboys in here! I own both systems as a few of us do, and it is clear and obvious that each system has its advantages and disadvantages. I can't help but feel the video/content creator has a certain cognitive bias towards the PSVR2. For instance, the notion of only looking at the price of headsets, or saying, if you already own a PS5 then... What if someone already owns not a PS5, but a decent gaming PC? You didn't explicitly cover that scenario at all. Another thing was the stretch you were trying to make re the game libraries. I mean okay you eventually found in favour of the Quest 2, but to even pause here is ludicrous. There is no conversation to be had when it comes to graphics being superior on PSVR2 and likelwise, there is no contest and no conversation to be had when it comes to games that are available. As of right now it is bang to rights a win for the Quest 2 by a country mile, same as graphics win by a mile on PSVR2. Another thing you entirely missed out here is the huge PCVR library of games, added to the very large Quest 2 stand alone library. Another thing with the Quest 2 is the category of exercise apps and games that requires very energetic movement. Here the standalone as opposed to tethered PCVR of Quest 2 wins, again by a mile. Beat Saber without wires is miles better, LesMills Combat, who wants to do knees and come crashing down on the cable and risking breaking both the PSVR2 and the PS5 - fuck that! Pistol Whip is miles better without a cord and so too is Walkabout mini golf, as you often turn a about in that game (no getting wrapped up in a cord). Thrill of the Fight the bestnboxing game and workout in VR, is not available on PSVR, but if it was, there is no way I would chance it at room scale with a wire. Premium Bowling is another amazing game, on Quest 2 you can run forward and bowl, and it feels like real ten pin bowling, there is no chance I would trust playing a gsme like that with a cord. The speakers on the Quest 2 imo are superior imo to earbuds, or headphones, it depends on the game of course, but for any physical games, I prefer the freedom, over and above audio quality, and in any case that can be achieved on Quest 2 anyway, by pluhging into the headphone jack, so the Quest 2 is the winner here with its versatility, not the PSVR2. Double tapping on the side of the headset is superior, the guardian creation is more intuitive and superior as well. You ruled out accessories, but it's okay that the PSVR2 requires a £450 PS5 to boot, that's the ultimate required accessory 😂 The Quest 2 has an array of after market accessories, because of it market penetration and low entry price. We can't and never will be able to alter how the PSVR2 fits the head. I mean it is very good, but... I have a Quest 2 with a BoBo halo headstrap, it is more comfortable that the PSVR2, in part because there is no teather. Also I have two hot swappable batteries for it, so one can be on change, while playing, so the headset like the PSVR2 is endless in terms of power, but on the Quest 2, so long as I have spare batteries - I never, ever get the system decide it is the end of my play session. So that's actually, again better on Quest 2. ^ PSVR2 is vastly superior graphically, it has a few killer titles like Gran Turismo and Resident Evil Village that are amazing and entirely beyond the Quest 2. Inam massively looking forward to Resident Evil 4 Remake VR. But being realistic, there are a lot of clear wins, advantages and, areas that a stand alone headset is also going to be superior at/for. Also what needed mentioning was that libaries carry over. This is a key factor for many when it comes to any purchase and it wasn't mentioned at all. Let's not forget the Quest 3 is out later this year and it is highly likely the entire library of games will simply carry across. So, to a degree that needs to be considered in any purchase, same goes the other way, though for fewer titles from those that owned a PSVR 1. Obviously because of the change in tech, we sadly lack tons of those games. I hope Sony decides to fund upgrades for some of these key titles. I own a PSVR 1 and miss loads of my games from that, but can't keep three VR systems set up. So just have Quest 2 and PSVR2 - My PSVR 1 is sadly gathering dust. PSVR2 is of course going to get better and better re the library of games over time, just it will take time. And it will be the best system for triple a titles, especially going forward, much more so even than the Quest 3 - unless that is plugged into a great gaming rig. I have purchased all my Beat Saber packs, all over again -Grrrrr - for PSVR2 having boyght them on Quest 2. I find the Quest 2 better for competitive play, but the PSVR2 version great for casual enjoyment as the graphics are beautiful. Just that fuckin wire! Same with Pistol Whip! Really the PSVR2 and any wired system is better for games with less movement - games where you are not sweating your tits off. I know loads of people will disagree with me, that's fine. One thing, before tou think about calling me out on bias, just to say, I can't stand Facebook and I used to work for Sony in the games industry. The PSVR2 is going to be better with every month that passes, especially in terms of library, but it's a bit limited at this stage. Not interested in Call of the Mountain - it's a glorified demo, great showcase for the technology, but very limited in terms of gameplay. The real killer for the PSVR2 is going to be fully fledged triple a games, not limited movement titles. P.S Please excuse the typos, I have nerve damage in the thumbs from chemo and the small virtual phone keyboard is an issue for me. I ended up as a senior games designer and producer in development and publishing, but that was on pancake games for the likes of Eidos.

Loads of good points. One thing that may improve your PSVR2 experience based on what you said is Cable management. Is that something you have tried? It isn’t a perfect solution but definitely helps you relax when worried about the cable
@christophercoey7804
@christophercoey7804 Жыл бұрын
@@ItsSamuelJones - I have just purchased a small cable adaptor, so that if the wire is pulled, it will just magnetically detach from the PS5. But I haven't got a cable management system on the ceiling, it's just too much/a bridge too far for the space and the room, but it could certainly improve matters for some, a decent idea worth mentioning, so appreciated 👍. I think both systems are just radically different and have entirely differing case uses. I have no doubt the PSVR2 will only get better over time, but it's always going to be better than Quest 2/3 in certain regards and worse in others. Today I went between Beat Saber on both systems and the tracking is far worse on PSVR2, wondering if the cameras being more forward facing is causing issues there. I have also noticed some pretty horrific frame drops - very much visible on certain tracks. From my point of view the latter stems from poor optimisation and from over egging the pudding and being too ambitious graphically with the port, given the code-base. Even lowering all graphical settings doesn't fix the problem. It's a night and day difference, Quest 2 is vastly superior performance overall, and then there is the cable and also weirdly the controllers which have far better haptics, have far worse haptics in Beat Saber, also PSVR2 gets much hotter than a modded Quest 2 with a BoboVR fan. Can Beat Games patch the game and improve matters? To a degree perhaps, certainly they can sort the haptics out, but their record in terms of optimisation isn't great. Generally exercise apps, just vastly superior on the stand alone device. Where PSVR2 is going to take over, over time is in the triple a games, not simply first, or second party either. Resident Evil 4 Remake VR will be huge, Gran Turismo is outstanding, nothing on a Quest 2 or 3 is going to touch these experiences, so yea, we are seeing differing niches and case uses where each stands out. Sony should have applied more cash to the launch though, they should have tipped up money to various developers, used a greater degree of investment, with a loss leader approach. Astro Bot Rescue Mission, Blood & Truth and a couple of other games should have seen free upgrades, like I say loss leaders. Also why a game like Wipeout Omega Collection hasn't seen an update/upgrade is anyone's guess given it was fully functional on controller? I can't help but feel my former employer has missed a trick or two. They could have come out the gate stronger without a huge amount of investment, really pepped up the library. Of course time will make a big difference, but you only get one launch, one chance to make a first impression. It's hard launching into such a mature market, when other systems have such extensive libraries. Question, would you want to play LesMills on PSVR2 over Quest 2/3? The same re Pistol Whip, Premium Bowling? Eleven table tennis? Audio Trip? Synth Riders? Not for me. I wouldn't even want to play Walkabout Golf, as you often turn a lot, and a wire is just a real hassle. I am surprised as to how hot the PSVR2 gets as well. Again, I just think it's far better for big hitters as they come to the system, for triple a games, for genuine ports that absolutely could not be achieved on mobile SoCs. Again it would be worthwhile for Sony to tip up cash and look at conversions of older titles like Skyrim and Boarderlands 2 etc. They could look very impressive on the new hardware, where 90 hertz would be easily achievable - no reprojection would be required. They also could do with titles like Bonelab/Boneworks and Half Life Alyx, if licencing is doable. A lot more serious heavyweight titles could be in place. Over time obviously big future titles will land. Right now we're in a kind of half way house space in time.

@@christophercoey7804thanks very much for your comments! I stopped watching the video and read your review instead :D Like you've described, I've currently got a PC with a 4080, but no PS5 (I hate getting software locked onto specific performs), so I've been considering the PSVR2 headset or waiting for the Quest 3. I've never used VR before, but I'm currently leaning towards the Quest 3 as it'll give me options and allow me to play games like Eleven Table Tennis natively on the Quest without a wire, and other more graphically intensive games I could play hooked up to my PC.
