I've always used Duracell mAh 2500 AA's with their fast charger, never had any issues, last along time and will recharge up to 500 times, just wish Microsoft would start including them with controllers as they already deal with Duracell

Personally the ones for series x/s that I like are the insignia branded ones from Best Buy. They seem to work decently and are reasonably priced imo.

The great thing with amazon is you can always read the reviews first and also return them as long you're in that 30 day return period. I've bought third party ones from Amazon and they last 1more than 1 week of gaming of 2-4hr per day gaming. I think they are rated at 2600 mah.

Unfortunately for me I always found the Xbox Branded ones to be garbage all the way from the 360 to Xbox one, My cousin and I both have had nothing but issues with the Xbox branded ones always breaking, I usually go with the PDP brand with the charger but I hear good things about PowerA batteries which you can get standalone or preferably with a charging base for both brands.

The power A battery packs or charging station made for the original Xbox one are not compatible with series X or S controllers, so if you have an original Xbox one controller it will work on series X or S but controllers made for specifically Xbox series X or S have a slightly different battery cover that’s why older recharge kits won’t work with the newer controllers, so you would have to buy a new Power A recharge station or they’re standalone battery packs, and when you buy it make sure it says compatible with Xbox series S and X or compatible with Xbox one and Xbox series S and X.

You haven't heard of Eneloops!? 😮 Xbox battery packs are only 1400 mAh. Each Eneloop rechargeable AA battery has 2000mAh (so that's almost triple the capacity of an Xbox battery pack) and it lasts me about 6 - 8-hour gaming sessions for 3 - 4 days with vibration on, and week without, before I need to recharge and swap out to a second fresh pair. The batteries also lasts long -- around 1,500 recharges before it starts to degrade.

exactly, I've always had issues with the weight and the backplate, to the point where I find using standard double A batteries to be a luxury. I currently have the power A batteries and they give you a backplate which holds an external usb 2.0 charging port. However this backplate reduces the space for which your fingers are supposed to lay. Anyways thanks for making such a great vid.

I bought one of the best selling third party batteries from Amazon, for 3 months it worked fine but kept losing charge bit by bit , now it doesn’t charge for more than 20 seconds, holds charge for a single minute and I regret not buying the official one.

I bought the Xbox branded one with the usb-c from Amazon. It only lasted 2 months. It has made me hesitant to buy another. There's no guarantee it'll last.

I bought one on Amazon but it didn’t work so I returned it and got another one from the Microsoft store and that one works great it’s been around 3 months I looked at some other reviews it seems like if you buy from Amazon it is more likely to not work for some reason

Well firstly such a great video, I had couple of questions regarding the gaming experience with pc/laptop (I know its irrelevant to this video), and the timing of the branded battery (like how many hours we can play till a recharge). if you want to use it on PC you will either need to have bluetooth on your pc or get the xbox dongle

Fun fact. The reason the after market batteries are losing charge after a couple of months is due to leaving them on the charger for too long. The official batteries are programmed to stop charging after full. The after market ones are not. So as long as you remember to unplug the charger once it’s done charging, all is well.

I do recommend getting the venom battery packs as not only are they compatible for xbox one and series they have their own custom cases so it isnt hard to remove cases and replace batterys tho you have to be a bit careful they have one compatible for both series and xbox one and they have old gen ones only for xbox one

I have a Series X controller just laying up in my closet because I didn't really have any batteries that worked with it. I have been lead to this video because my current Xbox One controller (who by a miracle has lasted over 4-5 years now) is finally showing its age and giving out, but I know I have another controller and was skeptical about off-brand new batteries. I was unsure about only being able to buy just the one but honestly when you said DAYS of game time, that settled it for me I thank you a lot kind sir

I got the Xbox branded battery for my Xbox series s, it worked great... Then it just decided to stop charging when I plugged the cable into my controller, and it has never charged ever again, I heard a lot of other people's reviews on them saying they all had the same problem, when plugged into charge through the cable to controller... They just don't charge. I just brought the 4gamers twin pack with separate charger... So no need to charge through the controller, So will see how they turn out. Hope this helps anybody with the same issue.

When it comes to the controllers themselves, I have always had better luck with xbox brand controllers. Bought one of the Power A controllers and the thing started to have stick problems within about 2 years. Have a wired 360 controller from Microsoft and that thing I don't use but keep as a backup and it still works several years later without any issues with the control sticks. Use a Series X controller on my PC now and just built a new PC with Bluetooth and used double As for about a week and 2 days and they are already dead. Don't know if it is that the controller uses a stupid amount of power, or the batteries have been sitting around for a while. Last thing I want to do is buy a rechargeable battery pack and have the SOB explode or start a fire. Which some of them have customer complaints about them doing that.

I wish I could pay R$29,99 for branded or R$25,99 for knock-off batteries. In Brazil branded Xbox Series X/S batteries are about R$290 bucks, about U$58. The after-market ones are low end with about 800 mAh for R$90-120 (U$18-24), with some bundles going at R$220 on a 4-pack of 1200 mAh, being about U$44 (remember those are off-brand). Not to mention the minimum wage which is R$1200 or about U$240 (monthly), so you can see how dire things get. Hoping for the day we can all get similar prices to just enjoy our gaming whenever we can, instead of selling a kidney every time we want something new and shiny.

There is not any controller like xbox controller, if you have play and charge kit + wifi wirless, you're good to go, it works pretty well, other controllers are not so good

No they cannot. Even if they are rechargeable they require a charging dock of some sort. But rechargable doesn't mean all, specific Lithium ion batteries :D

Fun fact, you can plug a usb-c to a battery pack. I tried the battery pack. I normally bring along to emergency charge my phone once in a while and it actually works in my control controller with the Bluetooth to my computer.
