Xbox one X is the King of the 3rd party console games, so pushing 3rd parties might not be so bad. They are not yet ready with first parties. As a show it was great. As something that's supposed to get me excited about xbox particularly, it was weak, but this time with the promise to not be weak in the future because of the new investment. For the rest of this year, it's just Forza Horizon 4. However, we should really take note of how Microsoft was able to convince so many publishers/devs to show off or reveal their games on their stage even though the much bigger audience being on Playstation, especially for the Japanese ones. I certainly would've guessed something like DMC5, Sekiro and Jump Force to be shown off at Playstation's.

Yeah, all the games I'm very excited for are all multiplats... even Halo which I love is most likely coming 2020. No gameplay shown, just a game engine tech demonstration. People are too focused on the lack of AAA exclusives (other than Halo, Gears, Forza). As a Ps4 pro and Xbox One X owner, I'll be more than happy to play all the multiplats at their best on the X. It's also great that a lot of people will also get to play most of the games presented on the PS4. That's not a bad thing IMO. I think it helps Microsoft to get more eyes on their conference to bring and support all these 3rd party and indie developers.

8/10. The quality and diversity of the games they showed was great, but I wished they did a more hands-on, gameplay kind of presentation for more of them. Also, it lacked real surprises and most of their bigger exclusives are just the umpteenth iteration of franchises they have done for years now (HALO, GEARS, FORZA) - all of which looked nice, but they really need new AAA exclusive IPs. That being said, my sweetest moment for this conference actually was their pledge to invest more into first party devs again (which bodes well for the future).

It's a great conference but better for Xbox brands future than the present. We now know that Xbos is taking first party seriously and they have clearly worked hard to establish a better relationship with Japanese developers as a lot of the great Japanese games skipped Xbox the last couple of years. Xbox cat fix their first party problem over night but this is a great and realistic step. Also the two big games they do have coming Gears and Forza look interesting along with Ori. When the next generation rolls around Xbox could be in a very strong position similar to where Ps4 was to start this generation. That's a very very good thing and worthy of praise even from the most critical Xbox pundits.

Regarding Halo: Infinite- The RIng World (Installation 04) of the original game Halo: Combat Evolved was destroyed. I did not confirm this, but it's been posted that the Morse Code on the Walkie Talkie during the E3 teaser translates to "SOS ZETA HALO GRD". Installation 07 is described as having "deer like creatures" in the novel, Halo: Hunters in the Dark. Installation 07 is also supposed to be home of both The Flood, and infected Forerunners when most life was transferred to The Ark. It would be my guess that The Flood will be the the threat or at least a catalyst of what Master Chief has to face.

MadMax23 Not really. XboxX only tops PS4Pro at 4k, which is a niche market. Not everyone plays at 4k. at 108060p which is standard for gaming, both consoles perform the same. In that context, you don't really have to upgrade from PS4 to Xbox. Plus, The RPGs that this conferance showed (like the Sekiro, or Captain Spirit,, I am willing to bet it will sell much more on PS4 than Xbox, because Xbox gamers are a demographic full of shooter multiplayers. They don't have the patience to go through a slow story. It's not because they dont know how to play those games, It's more because they were never treated that way. They have always been showered with Shooters. Both AAA iconic title of Xbox is a shooter. Every xbox owner owns either a Battlefield or a Cod. Considering that, games like Jump Force, Sekiro, etc wont sell as much as it will on PS4. Similarly, Kingdom Hearts and Nier are both amazing games and yet, they will not break the record selling of the title on PS4. Which is also why I am really worried about Ninja Theory. The team there are master story tellers in Action RPGs, and I am afraid it wont be an Action RPG coming out in XBOX from them in the future.

From an entertainment perspective, this is better than anything Microsoft has done in recent memory, great conference. That's on the backs of multi-platform games though and this conference doesn't move the needle for them in terms of bringing people over to x-box, or acquiring new customers. Some stuff was announced for the core x-box gamers and that's great, but if people didn't like Halo, Forza and Gears enough to buy your consoles before, they're not going to now. So if the goal of this is to sell consoles and to bring people over to you, I don't think they did a great job. As a general gamer though its great, I got to see a bunch of great games that I'll be able to play on any platform I choose and I commend MS for that. Dragged at times but way more dense than years past.

One of main problems with Fallout 4 was dialogues. Im not fan of this but it was genius move. If there will not be npc's there will be no dialogues. Just players. What a move, Bethesda.

At the end Phil is like Xbox is the best place to play etc when it hasn't been for a while and then goes onto say industry leading first party studios. You've a long way to catch up to Sony in that regard. You can throw money at developers but it doesn't mean the games will be any good. Other than that oddness it was a fantastic conference.

Xbox is the best place to play for me. I love the games that come out on PS4, by far some of my favorite this gen, but the OS and environement itself is not that great IMO. Not only that, but now that they have the Xbox One X, pretty much all multiplats run better on it. So in some ways, he's right to be that confident. As for the devs though, it's a broad category. Naughty Dogs and Santa Monica are insaly talented studios, but The Coalition and the Forza dev are definitely leaders in their own ways as well even if their games don't have the same appeal or reception.

In a literal sense it is the best place to play, Xbox one X runs every multiplat game far beyond what ps4 pro does. And yes sony does throw money around (Neir, Street fighter 5, Crash trilogy, No mans sky, Hellblade and a bunch of Japanese games were/are only not on other systems because sony paid those developers). Be a fanboy all you want but sony is as shady as any company and not exempt from criticism (cough fortnite/ps now/network hacks cough).

There were some questionable moments on what they decided to show at their press conference, but overall it was pretty good. They showed a lot of great new games, most of which were multi-platform. I hoped Xbox would have shown a few new exclusives, this was their big moment and they didn't utilize it.

What if Fallout 76 changes permanently in updates. The trees and flowers dies and Bethesda has metadata on where most of the player controlled nukes falls. Then they use that data to add craters and destroyed buildings at those spots.

Alot of these games still came to PS4 they just had their conference first and thus got to show games first and if it was Xbox exclusive it also came to PC. So still no reason to buy an xbox cuz they suck. Yes I know I'm late. But if you're talking about presentation then yes Microsoft did better

Great conference but when you break it down the exclusives are just not there and it was disappointing yet again. xbox is a gears, halo, forza machine with third parties. There 2018 only has forza? I wont be surprised if Halo is not saved for the next console.

This is just me, but I think they are doubling down for next generation. They can't do much at the moment because they don't have many first party studios at the moment since they are buying more studios like Playground (New Fable?) Compulsion, Ninja Theory, those guys, Spencer even talking about First Party Studio Buying at this conference makes me think of what could happen net gen. Hell, they mentioned a new console for a new generation at the end. I'm just thinking that if Microsoft keeps buying companies they will have a shit ton of exclusives for next gen. It could happen. But I have a preference of Xbox so maybe I'm not the best to ask this. I liked the conference fine but I don't think it was my favorite out of all of the other ones they had.

Agreed, They are in a holding pattern. They can not turn this gen around. I just dont think we should heap praise on this when all they did was throw money to show third party games like DMC and cyberpunk first. They are all playable elsewhere. I just find it sad. They never really got their due. Enslaved, DMC, Heavenly Sword, Hellblade are among my favorite games of all time. I wish Sony had bought them instead. They have the potential to be the next Naughty Dog. Sony should also buy House Marque. Before MS does.
