I don't think they care about numbers. They are more about making their shareholders happy than their consumers. In Canada, the xbox was not on sale during black friday or boxing day. This is the first from what I remember. The ps5 had some nice discounts.

How many years have the systems been out now? By this time the hardcore fans bought the system and are happy. Console sales shouldn’t matter anymore at this point with everything else going on in the tell of PC and services like Gamepass. The rest either went to PC to play gamepass exclusives there or went to PlayStation to stay there. Xbox has the eco system and is now showing the quality of their games. I have a SeriesX and a PC so I’m not complaining. I have Gamepass and I still buy games because there are great deals to own games digitally. I can’t blame other console owners for not knowing.

It matters for the future of Xbox gaming. When Xbox is simply not selling consoles anymore, launching a new console is going to be a huge risk. There is a good chance that they simply won't bother anymore. Also console sales always matter, no matter how far from launch it is. The PS3 actually started increasing their sales in the twilight years of their console with a series of amazing exclusives like The Last of Us and Uncharted and managed to surpass Xbox 360 sales at the end of the console cycle. Succesfull consoles like the PS2, PS4 and Switch see strong console sales even in their sixt year after launch, and these are often new gamers that will get locked into the ecosystem for years to come. Every time another million consoles have been sold, it is a chance for developers to sell thousands more copies of their games, making it more attractive to make awesome videos for it even late in the development cycle.

Xbox screwed up again this Generation.. They learned nothing from the Xbox One Generation. Making two different consoles was dumb if they wanted to make an all digital console they should have released the white Series X from the start. that’s what PlayStation did made two consoles but they was exactly the same.. Playstation releases financial reports every quarter. Profits have been updated year over year every quarter of 2024. You can talk hypothetical all day but the proof of Playstation dominance and success is public information. Even with ABK selling still selling games on Playstation, even with Xbox games being day and date on PC, Playstation revenu is 50% higher than ABK+Xbox combined. There is not evidence or logic to what you are saying.

Simple economics my friend. More consoles or hardware sold, more subs to game pass. Putting Xbox games on Playstation means they are making money, but gaining less subs. Isn't that the whole point of a subscription service, to grow that service. More importantly, outside of the U.S the Xbox brand is DEAD. Dee, I've been reading the comments and no one seems to have an answer as to why they won't just release Wu Kong for the X only. Well I'll answer it for you. If Xbox were to release a game for the Series X only, the Microsoft would be looking at a Class Action lawsuit, because the Series S is also supposed to be "Next Gen". Theyve sold more S than X. That's why Hellblade 2 released at 30 fps, not some BS about cinematics. Thats why they took a year to give Starfield a 60 fps patch, so it wouldn't be on the minds of the slow. I have the PS5 and Series X both. I use the Series X mostly for Game Pass, which I don't pay for (Microsoft Rewards points pays for the subscription), On PS, I have over 900 digital games and 219 platinum trophies because PS just has the better games worth buying. I know PS is more expensive and you have to buy games vs getting them for free on Game Pass, but this is why the games on PS are better quality. I hardly buy any games on Series X. If either company stops making gaming consoles, it will be Xbox sooner than PS.

I benefit from both consoles as well… this year for example “if they don’t get delayed”, ima buy deliverance 2, death stranding 2, phantom blade zero, ghost of yotei, wolverine, where winds meet, gta 6 on my pro. Then on my series x is Avowed, Doom, south of midnight, fable, state of decay 3, outer world 2, perfect dark, black ops 2 sequel through gamepass this year. Xbox problem is the series s. 10gb of shared ram is killing them. A IPhone 17 has more RAM than the series s. It is insane. Xbox series x was a whole lot better than PS5 (until the pro came out). Problem was that Xbox has a rule. If you can’t put it on series s then Xbox doesn’t play it (even on game pass). This is what killing them. They should have had games for the series s and those games that require more ram would be just for Xbox series X. That is what killed there sales and devs taking sooo long to get to Xbox. The have to make a game. Release it (to recoup money). Then go in and re-render the entire game while removing 3-6gb of ram space. It is insane. Unless you go in and make a game to the Xbox series s while at the exact same time doing a remaster for PS5, PC & Series X. This will cause games more money to develop and they are already taking 4-5yrs to make one game. It would get pushed to 5-6years (For one game). That means it would also be more expensive and make less money. Not a winning formula and a headache for the devs. Edit: Had to fix my typo (iPhone 17)

@ I actually posted a link to show the iPhone 17 specs. But now it is gone. I guess KZbin didn’t like that I posted a site in the comments. Anyways google IPhone 17 specs. It is all there. I know how tech works (better than most people on KZbin). Ram is the space of how much memory is being processed at one time. The processor is how fast that information is being processed (it gets a lot more complicated than that when you are talking about GPU but essentially that is what it is). Now series s has a fast processor but can only use 10gb at a time. Makes it extremely limiting for AAA games that take 13-14gb of ram or more. There is also another rule Xbox has. It has to run at 1080p 30fps minimum on the series s. Now what devs did for the steam deck was put it at 504p and upscale it to 720p. That works great for a steam deck that doesn’t have the GPU power of the series s. Even when they did that it still was running at 13gb. Yes when you went into a corridor it would was only using around 8-9gb. But when in open areas it was using around 7-8gb of ram and 4-5gb of vram. Which brings the total to ave 13. Never saw it got over 13 of shared ram. Series S only has 10gb of shared ram and 720p is below Xbox requirements. So the devs have to make graphics cuts. This is typically on rocky surfaces, grass. Reflection, shadows, ect. If you look at both Series S and Series X version of a game you would notice things like colors being alittle different, notice on a rocky surface you small little details our now just big pits in the rock, having half the gravel on the road. This is the devs went in and re-render everything to cut out typically for most games about 2-3gb of ram space. You already save about 1gb on down grading to 720p and upscaling to 1080. It is all about making the space. Hell I remember when running windows 3.1 when doom came out and you had to create a boot disk to free up ram space just to play the game. I know about ram space and gaming. I grew up in that generation and built multiple computers and rigging them to get me just what I need to play new games.

Series S was a major mistake. They thought making a cheap console would bring in more sales. PlayStation are proving they can double the price and still sell. Microsoft will focus on Game Pass and will then shift Game Pass to be PC focused. We have one more console generation and then they will completely pivot to PC.

I play where I want to Play, isn't necessarily about exclusives. I like being able to play anywhere and having games that can play on more than one device but I only have to buy once. Could care less if games Are available on Ps which I also do have. I just like playing on my Xbox. I don't work in sales so them moving Xbox consoles doesn't matter to me. What matters is I have games and people to play with and Microsoft is making money. Which they are doing all 3.

Every third party title sold on a console that console owner get 30% of the cash. Xbox division had to buy out Activation to gain Call of Duty in order to make a profit. Every Xbox game sold on Xbox they get the full amount vs every Xbox game sold on PS5 or Steam it costs them 30%. The problem is triple A titles are getting more expensive and with PC gaming growing they can't ignore the profits they gain selling on PC knowing it will cost them 30% of the price. There is only room for one console and Nintendo.

But I find your statements contradictory, one time you were saying that Xbox needs to continue sending it's IPS over to playstation because they are being outsold, now you say exclusives matter. So we need consistency in statements. Truth be told Xbox strategy of taking IPS everywhere makes theirs less relevant. Don't know if you've checked but the PS4 sales could be higher than those of the Xbox series consoles. So that's what we get from Phil and Satya Xbox play everywhere strategy simply makes their consoles less relevant and you'll see this more and more.

Xbox should hold on to the first party exclusive's to make customers want to buy an Xbox Series S or X for at least one year. It has taken many years for Xbox to finally have some good games from their new Studio's to then put them on the PlayStation? Wtf! Sony would never do this! I don't have a problem with MS putting some games on other platforms but just not the main first party games like Halo, Gears, Forza, ElderScroll's 6, Doom the Dark ages, Fable, Perfect Dark, InXile Clockwork Revolution, south of Midnight, Stalker 2, Avowed and State of Decay 3. I just can't see MS giving away all the heavy hitters to PlayStation. Like i said if they do then let it be a year later and not day in date. This strong lineup of games is what's going to make people want to buy an Xbox. MS should never have started that "this is an Xbox campaign" and should have been a little more patient, held on to their guns and come out gun's blazing with amazing games like Indiana Jones!
