to be fair most critics will most likely have a pretty good rig and even if graphics isn't the deciding factor between good and bad but it can still lead to a more stunning experience since the game doesn't just have raytracing but path tracing and most likely even plays on higher frames on a good rig.. these things have an impact on the experience whether you like it or not otherwise people wouldn't pay more to improve their experience. I also understand the anticipation that the Playstation version will have a higher score but logically it makes sense.. not because of the platform but they will most likely receive a more patched version of the game and everyone knows that waiting a few months or in some cases even years usually leads to a better experience. I'm not denying that there is some Playstation bias from the media out there but at the same time i wouldn't think it would be outragous to think that the Playstation version will be more optimized than the release version we have now. Edit: i wrote ray reacting.. no idea how that happened

Steam OS can't play any of the biggest multiplayer games, CoD, Warzone, Fortnite, Apex Legends, Destiny etc. Launchers suck on it & it's desktop mode is dire. Windows may be jank but at least it plays everything.

I do hope valve hops into the console market. Xbox has shit the bed with their inability to keep their console fanbase happy and being active in the reasons people like consoles (ease of use, physical media, games day one, good price). Sony has been over charging people for no real advantage of anything, other than brand power and empty promises. Valve could do a better job at providing a PC, Handheld and console experience by being all linked to steam and have the ability to play anywhere.

@jimmythegamer2231 Xbox and Sony are trying to be an app, while steam is already an app. Thats why both are putting their stuff on PC/steam Deck. Valve literally has the advantage of having the best performance via PC and Portability with steam deck, they would just need an easy and cheap platform for casual consumers. Valev can do play anywhere way easier than xbox and PlayStation. Xbox is struggling because they need 3rd party devs to agree to let people play their games for "free" on pc, since people dont want to use the windows store. while PC and steam deck already get steam launcher and have no separate stores. Also the steam deck doesn't have to sell on par with a xbox or PS5, they are a companion/platform to steam. While Xbox and ps5 are close ecosystems that have no reach outside of their own hardware. PC players aren't going to want to use a PS or xbox launcher. The real nail in the coffin, is that xbox is leaving physical media and trying to go all digital, when steam is already the king on that front. I love physical media and xbox has destroyed their own platform by chasing after steam and whatever sales they can get from ps5 users.

As far as best performance pcs are put together with parts from nvidia, amd, etc. steam is just an app/launcher/marketplace. The best one at that, but Microsoft is working on changing that if you haven’t noticed and with 35 million players on something like gamepass and growing they will become a threat one day, the new generation will probably prefer Microsoft’s ease of use in the future. And PlayStations brand recognition is so ridiculous that if they hopped into the ring with steam, steam will probably lose that one badly. PlayStation has all of Japan, a lot of Europe, and most of USA wanting their games. Sorry man but steam, has an uphill battle against both Microsoft and PlayStation. And if steam doesn’t fix the issues with fps games like call of duty, apex, etc. no ones buying that console. And as far as portability, Microsoft and PlayStation will release handhelds the psp will crush the steam deck people have been wanting that thing for years now so the hype is astronomical for that one, and Microsoft will release something closer to what Rog ally is but with a cut down windows os and better price point, steam deck really had their success bc it was the only other option on the market other than the switch. But what happens when they are no longer one of the only options? Remains to be seen, my opinion, they don’t survive in that climate.
