Will any of this remove your profile? When you clear your “cache” doesn’t that erase all your game data? I’m worried about erasing everything! That’s why I’m worried about resetting it, I’m afraid I might erase my game data. Also, the Blu-ray trick you did, does that also erase some save data from other games? Well my s model xb1 started having drive issues and wouldn’t read any discs inserted. There’s an article that states possible fixes and one of them is holding the disc in place while the drive tries to suck it in (super hookboogey lol). Well I tried it and it actually worked. What would cause that to happen and is that a sign of my drive heading towards death and mechanical issues?

I think so... I've been doing the holding my finger in the middle of the disc thing for two years now. 2 weeks ago it finally gave up and I can only play some one games and 360 games for some reason. Really sucks cause my good games are all disc games.

Pathy They say it realigns the disc inserting mechanism somehow? The most common cause was if it got too dirty. Mine has been fine ever since I did the disc hold fix but after because of reading that I used light compressed air to clean it off the best I could. Hope this helps and good luck. I’m sure mine will do it again soon but I had it since the s model released so she’s getting old.

Pathy Yours is a first gen XboxOne? If so then yeah, I’ve had 2 that were doa with disc drive failures, back when you were forced to buy the Kinect sensor with it. They both made that clicking sound from a gear out of alignment. I couldn’t do anything to fix them either except they were within warranty at the time so I sent them back for repair. The 3rd and final one lasted a little over a year and died also. I’ve had pretty bad luck with the first gen series XB1’s.

I unplug mine whenever it’s not in use in case of power surges that seem to happen here a lot. It still didn’t fix it...The thing that worked for me was holding the disc in place while the drive tried to suck it in for about a second and letting it take it. For some unknown reason that actually worked and I was baffled by it. They even state this as a fix in a lot of technical websites but I don’t know the reason why it fixes some consoles and others it doesn’t? I laughed when they said that and wasn’t even going to try but decided to give it a shot and to my amazement, it worked lol?

I’m making two technological changes by the end of this year bro. Moving from iPhone to and android for a change (my TV also only can do screen mirroring with Android) i’m also moving to ps5, I’ve had disc read problem for about a year now. My Xbox chooses when it does and doesn’t want to read disc. The blu ray and unplugging option worked for me but we shouldn’t even have to do that 😫🤬

I'm not sure if the power saving method helped but it read a disc! It used to sound like a beast reading discs. Now it sounds odd for 10 mins then calms down. Consoles mostly need the disc reader long enough for do a license check these days
