Worked for me!!! was bricked for 1.5 years! Its important to note that the thing that bricked my 360 in the first place was a SOFTWARE UPDATE from the connect. So was not likely an incident of overheating. This fix probably just resets a flag in the software. Also important to note is the timeing. 1. Switch off 2. Switch on 3. As quickly as possible press open tray 4. push the tray half way in. (do this before the center lite stops flashing) 5. wait for that nice sound :) Saved my 360!

A lot of individuals say this is fake and perhaps it is? The Xbox 360 Disk Drive can cause 3 Red Lights although I have never seen nor would i believe this method would work? Perhaps it worked for his unique problem? At least he is not telling you to do something as Stupid as sticking shit in the fans, raping it in a towel or murdering your hole Game System by putting bolts in place of the X-Clamps. Do not bitch at him say thank you it did not work for me and move on, FYI I am qualified component level Electronics repairman with over 30 years of personal experience and prove that by showing Actual Military background in component level Avionics Repairs. and the Owner of a licensed Electronic repair shop repairing all game systems Desktop PC's Laptops ECT. As for me if I was to guess at what the problem of this box was by the way he stood this up like he did i would say he put a penny in the drive or the drive has a penny in it and after standing it on its side the penny moved to the side of the drive allowing it to reset after turning it off then on regardless of how he pushed the button because he did not prove it would stay red light before preforming his trick I would say he knew exactly what was going on or simply did not know there was a penny in the drive and this worked each time for him and he thinks this actually works? Ether way I would like to say ("thank you for your video") And thank you for not showing fake ass repairs that can kill or remove all possibility of any kind of lasting repair like so meny others do on KZbin Love Daniel of the HGCGamersClube and Clovis X

I have an old (white) console. Every now and then i get the red rings. i just turn it off and back on, all good. The power box to power point also gets a red light. I figured its the power box causing it, because it overheats. So i keep a fan on it. Works.

If anyone is reading this comment make sure to never EVER!!! Lay your 360 sideways. Because if you lay your 360 sideways two vents will be blocked off from airflow. This is what usually causes the three rings of death on your 360. make sure to place the 360 upright instead of horizontal that means all vents have airflow.

Actually there is the red dot of death/RDOD on the slim I have a zephyr and jasper both full out 4 ring Rrod I did this trick with a few other tricks like the bow torch trick were you heat up the Cpi that doesn't make since to me but it just works

I should try this, because it makes sense, opening the disc tray overrides the light circuits in the motherboard (main circuit board) that control the power light and the 4 segments because the power light is flashing, and the circuit is still in use so it stops it from showing the 3 red segments, now I get it!
