If it's not the handheld, it could be their planned version of the dual sense controller, that leaked during the ABK trial. It was supposed to release alongside the Series X refresh console, so they might still be releasing the controller, even though the console got cancelled.

If Microsoft’s XBox handheld is not a DIRECT Steam Deck OS/Steam Big picture competitor, it will fail! Microsoft should be more focused on making a Gaming Specific Windows OS than making a handheld! Gaming handheld on windows is for enthusiasts! It’s not the most user friendly / efficient! That’s what the Steam deck has been able to do, bring a “console like” experience to a Handheld PC ! If Microsoft doesn’t do the same with their handheld, it’ll fail disastrously and if Xbox thinks folks want to buy an Xbox handheld that is NOT a pc, oh are they gonna be sad 😂 might as well bring back windows phone 😂

If this device comes out next-year and the following year (as expected) MS releases the next-gen, then this mobile device will be a dead man walking. It will be based on this gens tech and not next gen (i.e. AI and other plans for next gen_ and that limits its life to a few years because MS will want developers to move on to the next gen quickly (within a few years completely) or else that next gen will be another blip, and not really developed for with any seriousness. It makes little sense to have a mobile device if plans are for a next gen not long after. I am telling you developers won't have two development lines (i.e. taking full advantage of next gen features and one that does not) thus limiting a reason for people to buy that next gen console and then that keeps sales number low. A scenario where developers stay support this gen works well for a mobile based on this gen and not too well for next-gen consoles. But if developers move on quickly, which gives Xbox that head start they want, that leaves a mobile device (released earlier w/ current gen specs) having a short lifespan (no new content or at least a quickly dwindling number of new releases arriving over the next couple of years after a new gen appears). The only way this works is if a mobile/handheld comes at the same time as next--gen or after next-gen and all the devices use the same build tools/libs base on the same feature set.

You guys bring up Switch as being a reason that Sony and MS are doing portables but let’s not forget that Nintendo’s portables have always outsold Sony and MS consoles. Not only that the reason the Switch sold so well is because of Nintendos games. I’m telling you now so you aren’t disappointed later but neither Sony nor MS will ever touch Nintendo in hardware or software sales. Need proof? Just look at Rog ally and Steamdeck. Tons of software for both, not even close to Nintendo sales and Sony and MS aren’t going to make a dent in those numbers combined.

Except nothing they’ve ever put out has outsold ps2 and ps2 is a solo console with no upgrades in hardware it’s just a fat and slim model… the Nintendo ds, ds lite, dsi, 2ds, 2ds xl, etc combined are a million under a solo console with no crazy versions and re releases for over 15 years

My source told me the Xbox handheld is being slow walked because Game Pass is coming to Switch 2 and MS is waiting to see if they need their own handheld. MS is not joking when they say everything is an Xbox

Gamepass is NOT coming to any consoles outside of Xbox my guy. If the recent shuttering of gamepass advertising is anything to go by, it may be stripped from Xbox as well? Especially when the shareholders check the books on how much cash Black Ops 6 brought in from PlayStation, compared to what Xbox brought them. Stats matter when cash is on the line...js

Xbox has said for the last 4 years, that they want to build an ecosystem, So you can play games on your console, PC, TVapp , Handheld, or PlayStation,, having a game pass account makes you play your games via Playstation, this is the reason Microsoft make great investments into buying studios and make great games ,so they need everyone playing them from everywhere
