If your XBOX Series S Digital is not displaying an image it could be after changing monitors or TV and the HDMI might need to be reset, this guide will show you how.
Easy to fix, as long as it isn't a hardware fault.
turn off the console
remove the power cable or switch off at the mains for a minute.
turn the power back on
press and hold the sync button and xbox power button until you hear the xbox startup jingle 2 times.
release both buttons
You might get a brief flash on the screen of the safemode screen
the console will turn off.
press the power button to turn on the console
now go into the settings cog and display options and select the resolution of your screen and that should be all you need

This works! I was losing hope thinking I would have to pay for a repair or open it up and fix it myself but no need. Just a Lil patience. I had to completely unplug everything from the Xbox and the TV power cord as well for atleast 10 minutes and then tried this process and it came right on. Thank you.

Thank you so much for this video! I will, however, say that it did not work for me, and I was literally about to take drastic measures. And luckily, I didn’t have to. So when i was holding the two buttons, to do the reset, I had to let mine beep three times. After trying your way several times, I just decided out of pure aggravation honestly, just to keep hold of them longer and then found that it beeped a third time and it finally reset and worked. Either way I would’ve been lost without this video completely so thank you so Much, and if anybody else is having issues doing what he says not working, try holding the two buttons a little longer and wait for another beep!

Good to know how to video. Son has older One S and if been overnight at friends the console will not connect to wifi. So we have to resort to rest so we can enter our wifi details. I just had this happen to me and was very frustrated. I have a smart tv and this method did NOT work for me. What I ended up doing (which was what someone said here in the comments) was to unplug EVERYTHING. The tv, the Xbox, the power cords, hdmi, everything. Wait 10 minutes then plug it all back in then start up the tv then turn on the Xbox. It worked and my screen is back on

Thanks. This reset worked for me. Interesting thing is when it did come on, it set up like a new Xbox. Seems the device totally reset. When it did come up, it was trying to set the video to 4k, which did not work, but 1080P did. Don;t understand why it did this to begin with since I have been using it in the same set-up for years. Note: if the safe mode didn’t pop up for you I have the solution, you might have played with different screens that your Xbox changed the resolution to 1440p. Go to another good screen that support 1440p or 4K and change the resolution to 1080p or 720p. Also enabling CEC is very important to let your Xbox change the resolution automatically depending on the screen resolution. Hope that helps you.

Thank u so much man ive had my s for about 7 months man and its amazing going super strong all of a sudden 2 tvs i use daily wouldnt read my hdmi cord the orginal one with it so i thought ok maybe the cord went bad from use cause i tried it in both tvs and nothin so i switched to my 4k hdmi 2.1 that worked in one of the tvs and it displayed wrong in another and didnt read it at all in another port so i did the auto detect thing and switched it to hdmi that worked but when i woke my tv didnt like that it had a black bar accross it i thought i burnt it in the screen lol turns out it was a bug i think i followed ur steps i mean i did them completely backwards bur it worked nonetheless lmao thank u so much i thought my lil system that could took a dump

Another thing you can do is restart your TV I have a Roku tv and my Xbox was not coming on but I went to another room and tried my older TV that does not have built in Roku and it worked fine so I went back and reset my TV that was having the issue with my Xbox and everything worked fine the only thing I had to do was reset up the game setting for the display

@@georgekasper2087 i found out how to fix it freind, first you need to make sure youve unplugged, safe mode wont work if you havent unplugged first then plughed back in. Then you need to hold the sync button and press (PRESS NOT HOLD) the power button and it will boot into safe mode. Idk how i solved this it nearly killed me bro 💀

Did not work. I followed the video step by step and it went to low resolution upon start up but it did not fully start up. It just sat on the XBOX screen for about 5 minutes and then went to a black screen for I don't even know how long

The xbox does its thing but i dont get a flash and it wont even turn on in low resolution mode i dont know what to do nothing is working

is it a digital or a model with a disk drive, and are you unplugging from the wall and plug as described

You have to reset the TV to factory settings

When I press the buttons at the same time I hear the start noise but then it makes a shut off noise and turns off. Please help 🙏

is it a series S or X and maybe reset your TV

@@mikesunboxing mines is a S and i get the start thenn the off noise pls help i went into my settings and switched something to dvi and it has been black for a while now
