Cheat code for those with sensitive to touch: cut a small piece of clear scotch tape and cover less than 1/3 of the circles in which the button are on the circuit board. Then place the trigger buttons on top. This will make it so u have to literally click the button for the circuit to touch the back of the trigger buttons. Also you can cut the trigger button from the model it comes in. I found switch A with x and b with y works much better than what it was originally designed as. Try these tips out. My controller has the round board and this is how I got it to work just fine.

I also tried it. You can use any tape as I tried it with blue painters tape. Covered about 1/3rd on each one like you said and it actually works now. I hope extremerate figures out how to make it work, because sector pads are almost non-existent for these controllers and the kit only works for those pads unless you do a workaround like yours.

Have just installed with my Xbox series controller. (Which also as the Flexor adjustable triggers and hope remap kit along installed along with a custom front plate). The clicky buttons are great so far. Very responsive and haven't missed any inputs. I was skeptical about using adhesives to keep the FCB in place but it simply works. It's cool, my Xbox controller can now have clicky buttons on all action buttons, but can still be switched back to having full throw analogue triggers whenever I want. Lets see how well these can last over time. I'm sure they'll be fine.

Hi, I was planning on doing the 3 mods you have done. Would you recommend doing them in any specific order?
@naliboi93
@naliboi93 9 ай бұрын
@@heat_wave933 casting me back about 9 months or so let me try and jog my memory lol. I basically did the Hope remap kit and the flexor clicky trigger kit simultaneously in the same session... pretty much did the bulk of the hope kit first including all the soldering, then worked kn the clicky triggers. Modifying the back shell took the most work for me as it was a lot of trial and error and sanding to make sure the triggers didn't catch on anything in the long throw mode. The clicky face button kit launched about a month or 2 after I did the above mods, so I did that last. Had to temporarily desolder some points like the rumble motors and the clicky trigger solder points from the hope fpc but that was straightforward. Its tempting to maybe fit the clicky button kit first, but I'd be uncomfortable with that seeing as it relies heavily on the conductive adhesives functioning optimally. The other 2 mods can involve generating a lot of heat (via soldering), stray flux, and debris. Plus you'd have to clean off any residue with isopropyl alcohol (which might affect the clicky button kit's adhesives if it ever goes stray). For that reason I'd personally suggest fitting the clicky button kit towards the end of the build. Here's a long winded explanation lol. I'd suggest doing the clicky face button kit as late as possible and I'd recommend getting some of the soldering (for the hope remap kit) and sanding (for the flexor clicky trigger kit) out of the way before applying the clicky face button kit. This is because the clicky button kit involves a bunch of conductive stickers basically. You don't want any stray heat, flux, or plastic debris from the lower shell affecting those adhesives in my opinion. If doing one fell swoop: - Do parts of the hope remap kit first: solder the fpcs onto the front and back PCBs. Do a test fit using the tester pcb to make sure everything works. I wouldn't bother adhering the Hope remap kit onto the xbox PCB via the adhesive, just letting it float is fine and make repairs and further mods easier. - then partially reassemble your controller. - I recommend working on the flexor adjustable clicky trigger kit before the clicky face button kit due to all the potential trial+error and sanding; you might accidentally transfer some debris on the face betton areas if you're not careful, doing the dace buttons last give you the chance to clean everything thoroughly for a proper fit. The clicky trigger kit takes some fiddling around to make sure the triggers buttons can adequately clear the inside of the controller without catching on anything. This actually took the most work fine tuning the fitment. Lots of filing and sanding. Don't solder the flexor solder points just yet, you need to fit the face buttons. - AFTER you're happy modifying the lower shell for the flexor kit, then I suggest the clicky face buttons. - now that you've got that soldering out of the way for the hope kit and the the sanding for the Flexor kit, clean off any flux and plastic debris using isopropyl alcohol and make sure you clean the face button areas on both halves of the controller PCB. The clicky buttons can then be fit onto the controller. Fit them using all the adhesives. Let the whole project sit for about 24 hours to be safe and allow the conductive adhesives to bond. Once happy, continue to reassemble and then solder in the flexor kit's solder points on the Hope remap kit's FPC, then close up and enjoy! Edit. I actually messed up on the hope kit by using to wrong longer length screwd for some of the back buttons. The back plate has screw pimples unfortunately. I'd suggest buying a spare Hope remap kit back shell if its possible.

@@heat_wave933 no problem. Didn't realise this was your first project, so here's some more tips from my personal experience. (I've done the Hope kit, and also an older remappable button kit for a non-Series Xbox One controller with a similar FPC install). Don't know if you've already completed. The Hope kit is quite a tricky one for your first ever solder project, but still doable. Work carefully. Get a feel for using a soldering iron and practice soldering and desoldering components on some junk electronics. Take the whole build slow and methodically. If you can do it succesfully, you'll learn and internalise some seriously impressive soldering skills and hopefully be able to take on more in future! Take photos along the way during disassembly and even soldering/desoldering, especially if it helps keep track of which screws and which components go where. I use an old Ferrero Rocher chocolate box (basically an ice cube tray) to organise screws and tiny components, and use annotated masking tape to remind me where the parts are meant to go. If following a video guide, I might simply label with a time marker for when that component was removed/reassembled. Make sure you have decent equipment on hand for soldering. Poor quality equipment with a lack of features can seriously risk ruining your work. You'll need: - temperature controllable soldering iron (non negotiable in my opinion. Set to about 300⁰C usually, but work swiftly on smaller solder points so you don't burn or lift solder pads). - a multimeter, even a cheap one as long as it can test continuity of your work and check for mistakes like causing shorts (this is also non negotiable). - spare solder tips + tip tinner (the cleaner your iron tip, the better and easier the process due to the better thermal transfer) - solder sponge or copper tip cleaner - good quality flux (I use MG chemicals paste flux) - solder wick (again, I use MG chemicals... you can DIY your own using some copper wire and flux if desparate) - good quality solder - ideally leaded if you can find it. - 90% or higher isopropyl alcohol for cleaning off flux, and and old toothbrush. - decent tweezers (this will help geab finer components and also push down parts of the Hope FPC so you can solder to it easier. - lots of cotton buds, maybe some gauze. Be careful of the fumes from flux and lead, work in a ventilated area. - use a face mask and extractor fan if you wish. Initial expenditure can be daunting but you need to be able to do the task properly. Plus it'll give a head start in future projects. Flux is your friend and will make the soldering process a LOT more manageable as it will allow your solder to flow much easier. This is vital for the Hope Kit and insuring that the solder points from the fcb actually bonds to the Xbox pad's PCB points. Your tweezers will help keep the FPC tight against the solder point on the xbox pcb as you solder; don't loosen the pressure from your tweezers until you know the solder has cooled and solidified. Some tips specifically for the Hope kit soldering: - making the hope FPC lay flat enough to allow the solder bind to both the Hope fpc AND the xbox PCB is difficult. You can ask someone to help hold down the fpc with tweezers if you trust them whilst you feed solder and use the iron, but that gets crowded. You can also use tape so temporarily secure the fpc flat, but be sure the heat from your iron doesn't loosen the adhesive. - I used tape to secure the fpc, and also pretinned the solder points. Consider pre-tinning (applying small blobs of solder) to the solder points on the xbox controller which will be bonding to the hope fpc solder points if you can confidently locate the correct points. This allows your additional solder or even the existing solder you just applied to bind the Hope FPC, and the xbox pcb a little easier. It also helps minimise the need for extra pairs of hands to feed solder as all the solder you need will already have been preapplied on the solder point itself + some additional extra saturating on your iron tip. Or at the very least, apply flux to the xbox pcb's solder points and the Hope fpc solder points. Work quickly and cautiously, don't dwell your iron or you might burn a trace: ie dwell your iron in bursts of up to 2 seconds at a time. As I mentioned use tape and also push down the fpc by the solder point to make sure the solder points are able to bind. If you pretinned enough, you'll actually feel the fpc "sink" into the solder point as the solder melts. Don't release pressure from tweezers until confident the solder has solidified. After each solder point between the hope FPC and xbox PCB is done, you can gently (and I mean REALLY GENTLY) try lifting the FPC near your solder joint to test if its correctly bonded as you progress. Regardless, you'll have the tester PCB included in the Hope kit which will tell you which points need extra solder work. If any points aren't bonding, add extra flux + maybe some solder and also apply a little more pressure on the FPC at the solder point as you solder. Extremerate have good tech support here and in their subreddit if you're struggling. Hopefully you'll get the build correct first time. Watch the video tutorials carefully (maybe a few times) before attempting. For video tutorials, there's 2 from extremerate for the hope kit I'm using, but the one with commentary by Craig's Channel has a mistake on the screw size selection for the mappable back buttons. Double check the comments and beware of any errors like that, they're usually in the description or a pinned comment. Oh, another thing I remember about the clicky face buttons. Extremerate provides a spare button membrane for the start, select, home, and share buttons which you need to modify to accommodate the clicky face buttons. Unless their aftermarket membranes have improved since I fit mine, the extremerate membrane feels mushy and less responsive. You can consider modifying the factory membrane instead if you wish. Also I think the silicon button pieces might be slightly different between Xbox One and Series controllers, but I can't remember. Follow the instructions carefully and try not to jumble your parts together as you'll be given parts for both xbox one and series controllers. Also, I suggest watching some soldering tutorials before you start. Colin's Lab guide to soldering playlist on the Adafruit KZbin channel is very succinct and great stuff. It's essential viewing for beginners in my opinion. Good luck!

Weird long question (sorry), I'm hoping any controller modder can help me out: 6:33 is it possible to glue a 1mm thick plate onto these things *to shorten the travel distance?* Or are there even *"raised" versions available?!* I have a problem with *ALL 5* of my Xbox One S controllers, and a friend too with ALL of his controllers. All brand new, unused & right out of the box. If pushed down with *minimal* force (I'm gonna use example numbers here for better understanding): 49g weight doesnt do anything. (good) 50g pushes the button down (tactile, as it should be), *but it doesnt deliver an input or starts flickering on/off*. *Only at 51g its pushing down "far enough" that a constant input is detected.* (at least thats what I think is causing the problem) Would a 1mm thick plate glued onto this be the right thing to eliminate this? This problem is infuriating in Rocket League! Tactile should mean input *once it has **_visibly_** jumped down its 2mm travel distance* (or whatever the actual distance is) and this problem shouldnt exist on all controllers. Sorry 4 spam but I waited years for a video/product like this lol *MAYBE this mod alone fixes the problem completely tho* and I dont even need the 1mm travel distance shortage?! 👀 If yes, I will order a few of those right away! Actually fair price imho! 😎

@naliboi93
@naliboi93 Жыл бұрын
Can't speak for the stick drift kit, but was wondering the same about order of the build for everything else. I think their website says they should all work together fine IIRC. In my opinion at least: Considering there's soldering and heat involved with the other mods you've mentioned, its probably best to try installing the clicky face buttons after the remap kit. (And make sure you don't stick the remap kit's connector cable adhesive to the board for ease of future servicing/repair). You probably wont want any loose flux or isopropyl alcohol getting all over the clicky face button's adhesive. As for clicky triggers, maybe those should go on last as it'll be more difficult to disassemble the board afterwards (unless you desolder). There's only 2 solder points per side on the Flexor trigger kit and the soldering is straightforward anyway, so you could chop and change the order.

You can see in google PCB of elite 2 and series X. It's connecting clicker with PCB by graphite pads with adhesive electric conductive tape (how this much working until looose contact it's another question because adhesive is destroied since time). The best way is to buy branded micro clicker (used in gamers mouse for xxx bilion clicks) solder and glue it and it will be much better and lifespan.
