New FAQ that came out today says virtually all 2020 addons in the Marketplace will be supported in 2024. I assume this means that addons that are NOT in the marketplace will also mostly be fine. Some may need some minor tweaking by their developers.

When I saw this live at the show for the first time it never occurred to me it's a completely new and separate game. I did notice the graphics looked much better but I was so under the impression the 2020 version will last longer and keep receiving more updates. Even when I saw the 2024 logo I genuinely thought they are just re-branding the game like they did with the 40th Anniversary edition. Not until later in the evening I found out it's a separate game, and suddenly my excitement turned into disappointment. I don't think I will be buying the new game like I did with the 2020 version. I will just GamePass the new one, assuming my current PC will last until next year and still be able to run it properly.

And I don't know whether to enjoy it... This clearly shows the direction in which MSFS will develop, i.e. playability = more fun, and unfortunately, I am afraid that the development issues regarding flight simulation (the essence of the simulator) will not change much. I wish I was wrong. I'm still using XP11 and was hoping for further development of MSFS, but more in terms of purely simulation aspects ;-)
