I have a fully configured 360 with Aurora and 1tb. Is it possible to restore that image on to a 2tb drive via the software you showed? Would it be a straight back up and restore. Thanks for any help!

Backup and restore for me was a pain in the behind and you could not see what it was doing so I would do the same as me configure the new drive and mount your old drive on a pc with the software shown and transfer the files manually I found that better for me I could see what’s going on and if it had not froze up or crashed I found the transfer speeds better also but it will take a while with 1Tb You can go to 2tb on external if I remember right so you could have 3tb with no issues if it’s a fast drive Good luck

A tip to get your consoles serial number you dont need to look at the flap it displays it in the system settings in about console i believe

If it is RGH or JTAG modded you show be able to upgrade the drive to 2TB unless you do someother stuff on fatxplorer to allow bigger drives You could get a trial version of faxplorer to format the drive first before you put it in then see if that works👍

But im not sure about life span of it. And the second question. Does every SSD fit this HDD box case? Cause ur Samsung SSD was perfect there. I heard these cases make disks heat more. @@AlfaCentavross any SSD or hdd will die eventually but SSD gives you more storage options and more available storage at a better price today The SSD is not really needed as the Xbox does not make use of the speed and access times are a little faster but not much SSD will run cooler and hopefully extend its life Happy Xmas

I am having issues where my SSD is not recognized by the 360 when I replace it in the SATA slot. it is completely pluged in. I used a USB to SATA connector and it detects it perfectly fine. Am I missing something? FIKWOT 250GB SSD SATA

Have you tried it actually in the console bay and formatted it if that’s ok it might be the usb to data connector that’s the issue I would try that first

I Have a xbox 360 that i got from my brother and still use it now. and thinking of getting a 500GB 360 Drive but i saw this video. not sure on the price of the 870 for now as it's $120 as of right now and i went to a local game store and found a 500GB 360 HDD for $50. plus to do everything else in your video (which is nice btw) just not sure if it's worth it. Not a fan of modding things as mainly don't know how to do that (buddy of mine can show me but still nervous about that) and tempting to get a newer 360 as well. hell i still have my xbox 360 pro that i bought brand new in Aug 2009 :D

​@@USSWISCONSIN64 that is not possible. You have to flash a drive with a security sector that the 360 recognizes, and only certain hard drives work for that. Only 1 person has done it with an SSD, and it requires a specific memory controller and VERY expensive hardware just to make that work, so it's not feasible right now. TL;DR: you must mod your system to use an internal SSD

Great vid mate. Sorry for the long comment but please read as I need help! In march I bought my first ever what is meant to be & titled on Ebay "rgh 3.0" trinity slim, ive had it a month but only now i realise in dashlaunch the type shows "Glitch" which someone said isnt 3.0 but 1/1.2. Can you confirm this & could it be why i often encounter crashes & freezes modding certain games? The console has never felt all that stable

RGH = Reset Glitch Hack so it sounds ok if your running dadhlaunch and it boot nice and quick you should be ok As for the freezing and crashing have you ran a normal game from disc does that run stable as a standard Xbox ? If it does then it’s the fact your messing with the games files and just trial and error to get that to work If the disc based games crash and freeze then you might have a hardware issue like the hard drive Let me know on the above 👍

"Glitch" in DashLaunch is correct for RGH 3, so no worries there. You may have a poorly done install if the console is crashing though

Hi a question regarding HDD, so i have a 500gb HDD that came with my RGH slim that I suspect has a bad file or something that easily freezes the Xbox whilst modding but I cant determine what it could be so just as a test I'd like to put my 2010 250gb retail slim HDD into it to see if it stops. Would I be able to just slot it in & mod a couple of games without any formatting & I can go about installing xexmenu/dashlaunch as normal bro? (I don't intend on making this my all-time HDD or play any XB original games!)

Even with RGH you have to format the drive on the Xbox and assign the Xbox key ( the one behind the usb flap) to get it to register on the Xbox or use fatxplorer to format it I would use fatxplorer to format the drive and copy over your data or add new files as you need them

It’s a complex process and only works with certain drives but you can add a 500gb drive but maybe things will change in the future

If your console is not modded, you can't swap an internal drive for anything other than a genuine Microsoft drive (or a drive flashed with a compatible security sector)

Yes you can install the SSD but you will not be able to transfer all you data you can swop some over but not all and definitely not add a new dash or load games straight from the drive you would still have to use your disc to run them You can use a USB to SATA transfer cable to move files over but you are limited

And the SSD works plugged in with a USB to sata But that is very slow because the Old USB slows down the SSD. But through Sata it's supposed to be faster. So I plugged in the ssd Internally through Sata But it won't detect the SSD. And I bought a computer recently But all of my stuff transferred so I don't think I need it unless it will it help me have my SSD get detected?

The 360 will not see it if it’s not because it’s not formatted correctly and the file system is not on it SSD on a 360 is not for speed it’s for seek time and reliability the 360 transfer rate bottlenecks the SSD If your not RGH modded your stuck with external unless you do some special mods to a western digital drive 👍

@@TheVetUk How do I RGH, and when plugged in with the USB externally It is slower than my hard drive originally in it. But the SSD is not just for speed, I didn't want my Xbox crashing like it normally does. And When SSD externally plugged in with USB It crashed and froze, and the loading times were really bad. It took 4 minutes to load Minecraft When SSD was plugged in using USB But with hard drive used internally it loads in 20 seconds. The USB is a big bottle neck. Does using RGH mean I have to get rid of my gold subscription.

Reset Glitch Hack (RGH) is a hardware modification which allows you to run unsigned code, mods, game backups, and homebrew Have a read of this site xbox360hub.com/guides/rgh-3-guide/ It’s not for everybody but is great when you have it it opens up the 360 to loads more features 👍

Hi, can you just use Aomei partion manager and just clone the rgh hdd to a larger hdd? Then plug it back into your rgh xbox 360, as the key will already be installed

SSD will not work on a none modded box yet SSD’s are overkill due to bandwidth limitations in the Xbox but that’s all you can really get that’s reliable cheap You can get a 500gb retail drive as Microsoft sold that and pop that in

If your console is standard ie not RGH modded it will never see it internally only external storage if in a usb caddy If it is modded try formatting it with fatxploter

Hi The biggest internal I have seen is 2TB and I believe due to the file format that’s as high as it can go unless someone has hacked it lately but I’ve not seen anything But you could also go with external to add extra storage I have seen these up to 8TB so you could use that as external storage Cheers

To make an SSD work you need a Reset Glitch Hack done on your xbox360 at present no other way to get the Xbox to see the drive as Microsoft locked the drives they made Is your console modded ?

I believe kwcdata meant original as not modded xbox 360. I have the same question. I would not like to make any modifications to the motherboard. I have heard from multiple sources, that the xbox 360 will not let you format the ssd, unless it is rgh modded.

If you can run a custom dashboard with it then yes they all allow custom code to be run jtag is soldering and a custom dashboard while RGH is reprogramming the NAND so both end up doing the same RGH is more modern

Hi to have higher capacity internally yes RGH is the only way atm Microsoft only released up to 500GB HDD’s to market and the security sectors have not been available for higher capacity drives and only with western digital drives I have been looking into this with the a beta release of Fatxplorer 3.0 so things might have changed You can go up to 2tb externally and maybe more with little difference to internal speeds as the SSD is strangled by the 360’s slower data throughput RGH is a pain to do but welll worth it imo I’ll keep looking and maybe do a video if I can get it to work 👍

Make your own as I know it at the moment but I am looking into it to see if anything has changed Or use external usb drive, the problem is the encrypted security sector as Microsoft never released a drive over 500gb no sector information is available to put on a bigger drive, It was Microsoft’s way of making you buy there drives so in theory you can use a 500gb drive with non RGH but you have to be carful what drive you use as the Xbox might not accept it Western digital drives were used by Microsoft so I would use one of them as the security sectors will match better but no guarantees But a lot of people asking this that’s why I’m doing some more research so I’ll keep you posted 👍
