Tip for playing in 2016: For truly pure anti-air, switch EMP grenades with Black Hat PDAs; Use them against mid to high-level scorestreaks that have flares to dispense them before using the launcher. You may also use the option to switch Hard Wired for Scavenger; a fuzzy minimap is a good indicator that an enemy Counter-UAV is in the air and you can simply take it out with one shot. With Scavenger, enemies killed by knives or bullet weapons will allow you to resupply your anti-air missiles and Black Hats, allowing you to continuously deny enemy air superiority without having to suicide in order to start fresh.

Drop attachment and second emp for tactician with a black hat. Primary should be focused on either shooting things down or be a weapon that is sufficient without attachments. PDW works well for the sufficient weapon part. Black hat can take care of lesser things such as guardians, so you can save your emp and rockets, not to mention being able to get inaccessible care packages is nice.

EMP nades are really effective against multiple pieces of equipment, like the shock charge/bouncing betty combo people like to run. Each blackhat can only take out one item, but an EMP can clear a whole room from enemy equipment, although it can't do anything about air support. It depends on the situation.

Funny thing is in COD mobile, it's a dual mode firing. It can be fired freely, or just lock on to any vehicle/scorestreak. But in free fire mode, it won't take much of an explosive damage if i can recall...

EMP is also effective against ground troops too. The Black Hat is also effective, but takes too long to lock onto certain streaks and leaves you vulnerable.

The FHJ-18 can be used even under the effects of EMP grenades or EMP, FYI. You lose the interface of the gun, but you can still lock-on and shoot with it.

@wastedjonin kinda redudant. plus emps are fastee, work through walls, and can destroy multiple equipments with 1 nade. EMPs will almost always yield more points as long as there's a lot of equipment, which is perfect for a support-centric class.

Toy Freddy It actually isn't hard to master this weapon, but don't act like your a pro if you run around with a gold FHJ-18 AA. People who are MLG will call you a professional at being a noob because they think only noobs use this gun to earn points that they can't get because they can't kill anything.

I think another build for quick switching as this build is applied better for would be Blind eye, cold blooded, engineer, 1 emp grenade and 2 black hats with the tactical wildcard as the black hats will compensate for 3 flare streaks. If you wanted a good blend between anti personal and anti streaks, pair the fhj with any primary, engineer and a c4. C4 can take out the AGR with one blast if it's on the ground just like in WaW it took 2 satchel's to take out a tank.

I like to run trophy systems instead of emp for a more focused aerial denial setup. Trophy systems are able to intercept lodestar and vtol warship missiles, so it gives me that extra split second to get my rocket off, or to shoot it down with my LMG. I also run a suppressor on my lmg along with the FMJ instead of engineer, so when I'm shooting at player controlled aircrafts like the dragonfire or vtol warship, my muzzle flashes doesn't give away my position.

Nechita Rares It isn't a viable attachment because FMJ's, or Full Metal Jacket bullets are used only in firearms and not rocket launchers. This fires an HE Warhead, a rocket, and not a bullet. And the fact that it is a one hit destruction of killstreaks, it requires no other attachment to up the damage or penetration of the rocket.

This is a good video for people to see, having at least one class for taking out scorestreaks is such a huge thing for team play, taking out high streaks or protection from swarm with blindeye can help win the game. Although EMP grenades are amazing, my class uses blackhats instead, using a blackhat or 2 to pop streak flares, then use your FHJ stinger.

Hard Wired is one useful perk that people prefer to replace with Scavenger, Cold Blooded or Toughness. Also, when an enemy EMP hits, your radar and display screen will be disabled (although it will not affect the launcher) which makes it x10 times harder to look for smaller targets such as UAVs and Dragonfires, so I would take off EMP Grenades and replace them with Black Hat x2.

I rarely have a comment regarding class composition, but I suggest forgoing an attachment and the hard-wired perk in lieu of tactician and two black hats. This will allow for a single person to shoot down four score streaks or take out a lodestar single handedly.

Fast Hands and Scavenger could help. Fast Hands to mitigate the handling/switch times of the FHJ-18 AA. Scavenger to prolong the weapons use. And resupplies your ammo, equipment, and rockets.

Guardians and Sentry Guns can each be locked onto by launchers, and enemies are more likely to be near these. EMP grenades are far more effective, but it gives you an option, and a slight chance for an FHJ kill.

I've actually gotten a kill with this the other day. The flares from a stealth chopper diverted the rocket back down to the ground on Meltdown. The guy must've been sooo pissed! There's also videos of people getting kills with it when taking out an AGR when an enemy is nearby.

Hey Stu! In my opinion you don't need the Hard Wired perk. I play on PC, and nobody uses EMP System. And when i'm playing anti-air, i immediatly shoot down the CUAVs. So here's my built for Anti-Air class: Primary: LMG, SMG, Assault Secondary: FHJ-18 AA Perk1: Blind Eye Perk2: Cold Blooded Perk3: Engineer Second Tactical: Black Hat (If you don't have more launcher ammo, you can use this against enemy aircrafts aswell) Tactical: EMP Grenade (against Sentry-gun, Guardian, AGR) Wildcard: Tactician

I'd like to add an advice to this build for the Camo challenges when dealing before the Typhon Camo it's great to use with Scavenger and play Objective types and find players that run the UAV, Counter and the Low Tier Scorestreaks to help you "boost" your FHJ. When dealing the challenges after the Typhon Camo it's best to use Cold Blooded and have Scavenger instead of Hard Wire due to the fact of handling the AGR challenge (when you don't have great players to help you out.)

@coollegomen The PDW-R in BF 3 seems to be a Magpul PDR (or atleast based off it),simply because they have simaler names does not mean they are the same (with the PDW-57 seemingly being based off the FN P90 with its strange top fed magazine,which also houses 50 rounda like the P90's while the PDR comes with either 30 or 20 round polymer mags) simply put,theu are diffrwnt weapons with simaler names.

This Launcher FHJ-18 Anti Aircraft is my least used launcher. Lock-ons were PAINFULLY slow, and most folks had scorestreaks where I was unable to capitalize. Much preferred the SMAW...

Did you get the gold on the FHJ, Stu? It's the last camo in the game for me, but it's unique as it's the one camo that's harder to get the better you are at the game. If you're doing well, there are few enemy killstreaks, and certainly not high ones. I played a 5 hour grind session and ended up with 0 points toward 10 Enemy-Controlled Streaks and not having seen a single AGR. I resorted to throwing care packages at FFA enemies. They passed up 2 AGRs because they thought they were booby trapped.

I prefer Scavenger instead of Hard Wire, you'll still shoot it down when a Counter is up even with an EMP is out you'll still hear the beeps when Higher Tier streaks is up or see UAVs anyways. I use Scav for the camo challenges through out the camo challenges.

The FHJ really needs a Buff: faster Lock-on and Movement speed (even more so than the buff last week). As far as your build, YEP I agree and it's the best combo to get rid of most annoying Scorestreaks including the VTOL & Lodestar. Often an Mk 48 + FMJ + Extended Mags can get rid of most air and ground Scorestreaks faster than the FHJ launcher by itself and ground streaks especially with a couple EMP's.

Sorry it's a bit late to reply to your comment - if you can keep the enemy aircraft in the middle of your screen and keep tapping the trigger while affected by an EMP you can still fire. I think the weapon still makes the lock-on tone too.

I think he used the black hats in a more "engineer" role while this class was more denial of streaks and destruction of equipment, hence the choice of EMP grenades rather than black hats. That, and it's always good to be diverse. Again, just my thoughts of why he chose it.

This is a good build, but i think it'd be even more versatile with 2 minor changes: First: Replace Hard-Wired with Scavenger. This will allow you to cut down more than one or two streaks in a single life, which will in protect your victory in modes like TDM or Kill Confirmed Second: Kick out the Attachment for your Primary, and replace it with the Tactician Wildcard. Then use your 10th point for a PDA instead of a EMP-Grenade. This will allow you to bring down streaks easier by triggering flares

I would consider Blackhat over the EMP Grenade. Even though the EMP Grenade is better at handling the AGR, Sentry Gun, and Guardian, the Blackhat will enable you to get the first to flares out of the way on a VTOL or Lodestar without giving away your position to the player controlling it or the enemy team in general. In addition, the Blackhat will enable you to take out more aircraft in one life as well as stealing care packages easier and hacking Claymores, C4, and Bouncing Betties.

Use black hat as your tactical. It disables the flares for much easier disposal of the VTOL, lodestar, stealth chopper and escort drone if I'm not mistaken

One thing I might suggest for your anti-everything class would be C4 in place of the second EMP grenade. That gives you 1-hit kill potential on the AGR, as well as Guardians and Sentries.

Well you have to stand still and aim the BH to use it, while the EMP is just a toss and go while run and gun. But a BH would help you against the Stealth Chopper and higher Scorestreaks.

I like to run my anti-air class with a Black Hat. A Lodestar for example has 2 flairs, you take down the first flair with the Black Hat, then launch 2 FHJ shots at it and it's down. No need to respawn or rely on teammates. Perfect for those all too frequent lucky enemy care packages.

this challenge really pissed me off too. try throwing an emp grenade then shooting it with the fhj18aa. that's how I got that challenge. the player controlled scorestreaks were near impossible because whenever someone had a lodestar or vtol warship, they were probably doing well enough to get another streak like dogs and was too hard to shoot down. try using cold blooded and a black hat to destroy one flare then shoot it down
