@@henryworks9089 If you're talking about why XCOM 2 exists, it follows a timeline where the initial XCOM project fails, the aliens successfully attack the HQ and forces XCOM to go into hiding as well as losing the commander as a hostage, causing the council to give in to the aliens (minus OUR BOI who fought the good fight). Specifically, the Enemy Within expansion added a mission where the aliens mind control several XCOM personnel and launch a trojan horse attack on the HQ. You have to defend the base from a rather large attack with a handful of your own soldiers and bare bones "base security" rookies. I believe XCOM 2 is the outcome in which you fail that mission. I realize I'm necroing this comment but you did it first so.

My pc version bugged out at the final scene. just as "the volunteer" was beginning to get the vision of earth getting destroyed. Tried to watch it multiple times, always the same thing. So, I came to watch it on youtube 🙄

Lol I accidentally triggered the boss at the end of the mission but had my sniper (with squad sight) in the previous room in the middle, just 2-shot the boss with double tap and won. Shortest boss fight ever.

lol I just did the exact same thing. It was my first time playing this also. Killed him in 1 round.

I did that too, and I just realized that was a boss fight after the credit appears 😂

Only did this with a flying sniper. After having played the game for 1500 hours, completing that end mission multple times but never that fast. I thought my game had crashed or something.

My first campaign I made the volunteer myself. I did not know I would be setting myself to be kill.

I was wondering if whether having my entire squad alive would show the entire squad, Due to being lazy, and this was the final mission, I had no goals of playing safe / keeping the soldiers alive, and rushed killing the Uber Ethereal, But it seems the maximum amount of soldier can be seen in the final cutscene is 3 soldier. But not gonna lie, having the only other soldier left that looked identical to the Volunteer with the exception of armour colour (I did this because I liked my soldiers to be given specific colour / helmet according to their class with the exception of higher ranked soldiers, which retained their class helmets but had more special colours.) gave a weird feeling, as if they had a very strong bond to one another, almost like brotherhood before the Volunteer yells him out the door and drives the ship upward.
