So looking forward to this figure. When I bought the Alex Ross-style anniversary figure it pained me that his color scheme was so muted and dark. This version is exactly how I want Captain America to look! And the accessories look terrific as well. Great review. Got me even more hyped.

Another outstanding review, and what an awesome figure. For that price point Hasbro should have included an extra shield without the holes. With figures like this we know Hasbro is capable of making near perfect figures when they don't cut corners to save money, though they did save some by not including the extra shield.

Very unique for Legends. It is a good combination of both toyish and collectable quality. Since the shield is clearly bigger, there should have been 2 especially as a deluxe. Nice review as always!

Toy biz was the golden Era of action figures. They paved ways for domestic figures and standardized everything. About 2-3x more articulation than hasbro, when hasbro first took the line, it was TRASH!!! But after many many many years later, they have gotten quality in control, one great thing hasbro have over toy biz is proportions, making the figures look a lot better. But toy biz still has paint, articulation and sculpt/detail (not including proportion) over hasbro. I miss the toy biz days when they pop out new figures every so often and they were not copy cats of a buck every figure like how hasbro is doing it. They only started abusing bucks towards the end when they were losing too much money trying to please collectors. Hopefully one day hasbro will include details, sculpt and articulation, and then they'll be over toy biz.

I know some people love it while others have some gripes with the figure,, But to me, I love it because this 20th anniversary Captain America will go great with the Avengers or In ''Invaders'' display, Since I don't have him I'm still going to get him so I could display him in my main Avengers display, Thanks Xcorpeo #Keeping the package.

I'm kind of lost for words with these 20th Anniversary figures. I don't know which I hate more: the figures or the enablers justifying a repack figure with a 50% price rise. Because its 'retro'. Dear God. What really is retro about this? The packaging? Yep, just that. I don't know how many people here saw the first wave of Toy Biz Marvel Legends on the shelves in 2002 and just went: "WOW. BEST FIGURES EVER." but I remember doing that. And, I shouldn't need to say this, but it was NOT a packaging gimmick that made Marvel Legends a super-over toy juggernaut that's still going strong 20 years on. It was a bunch of stuff: a properly scaled, beautifully articulated, ultra detailed, definitive figure that was better than any previous iteration of the action figure. EVER. Not just previous Toy Biz, but any company. That would be enough, right? An amazingly good, high-quality 6" scale figure? Well, Toy Biz didn't stop there. You got a sweet, equally detailed display base. And a comic. And a bio! Boom. And this sold at a few pounds or dollars more than a 3.75" Star Wars figure. Marvel Legends were soooo much better than anything else on the shelves at the time. Innovation. Quality. Value. Try applying those words to a 2022 Marvel Legends figure. So, here we are in 2022. Hasbro are celebrating a genuinely awesome, game changing and groundbreaking Toy Biz line by re-releasing a figure we've already bought. On a 'Retro' card and a regular one. And in a box. So...okay, it's a repack. What bonuses are we going to get? Um...well...it has a few familiar accessories, a nice enough new swap head and...done. Nothing at all that makes you go WOW! Nothing that puts it head & shoulders over a regular Hasbro Marvel Legend. Although it has no BAF part and costs £12 more than a regular Legend. And that's cool because of the belt?!?! I KNOW that Toy Biz could include bonuses that Hasbro can't, and I never expected anything other than an exceptional figure - with somethingt that justifies the enormous price tag. So, are we really saying this is as good as it could be? That this is so, so much better than the 80A figure? Hasbro couldn't even be bothered to start from scratch for this special, super-duper Anniversary figure. And maybe everyone is cool with that. Maybe Marvel Legends collectors don't care about any of the things that bug me - a Marvel Legends collector of two decades. Maybe they're psyched about another tweaked Cap figure on another tweaked card. And I can't even say I won't be buying it, because I probably will. And that's what makes me maddest of all. I know Hasbro can do better at this price point. You know. Hasbro know they can do better, too, but they don't need to, 'cause we'll buy it anyway. Happy 20th Anniversary, guys.
@miguelantonioreyes3337
@miguelantonioreyes3337 2 жыл бұрын
While i agree and share your sentiments the fact that you and I will still buy this is all the market validation hasbro needs to not change anything. In the end, demand and supply (i.e. the market) determines the worth of hasbro’s products. And it will never change if consumer behavior doesn’t change.

@@miguelantonioreyes3337 You are entirely right, Miguel. I made the mistake of buying the 20A Cap, but that's me done for 20thA Legends. Sad, because I'd really been looking forward to a decent Toad. But they didn't have a decent Toad to offer. And with Marvel Legends, no more Retro cards, no more non-BAF figures and no movie or Disney figures. No repacks or repaints I don't REALLY, really need. As collectors, and KZbinrs, we've all got really, really lazy, stupid and complacent. We've given the big H unlimited license to fleece us, and we're getting what we deserve.

I really hope they continue with giving us more bright and eye catching figures, because that’s what comic books are. Just got an email from Gamestop telling me Cap is on the way!🔥🔥...the *ONLY* thing I'm disappointed in is the shield.😬. The clip-on and the holes🤦‍♂️🔥. They should have given is another shield with no holes or some nice plugs to hide the holes up. Other than that, I'm psyched 'cause this'll be my first Cap figure and I wanted a nice comic accurate Cap to go along with the Walmart exclusive comic accurate Dr.Strange 🔥🔥.

5:12 I wonder why they don't mold the clip piece in hard rubber plastic like they do with hair pieces. Wouldn't that be better? I think there would be less compression on the figure, the clip would be more pliable and not snap so easily, and you could put it on figures with thicker forearms. If it gets warped, a little heat should be able to fix it. 7:19 To me, the unmasked head resembles Matt Salinger from Captain America (1990). Put it on the Onslaught wave Cap and you'd have that movie's Captain America. 8:40 Interesting. 20 years Cap doesn't have the same hips as 80th Cap. 80th has hips with sculpted wrinkles, but 20 years reuses the old Grim Reaper/Wonder Man hips.

Great review and thanks for the head swaps. I can't wait to get this Cap. He'll be the only one I get. The price is BS. There is no justification for it. Captain America's and Hulk's bodies are complete reuse. Iron man is mostly reuse and we'll see how much Toad is reuse. I'm hoping for all new sculpt but with how long they have been holding back on showing him I'm assuming he's reuse.

This guy was an easy pass, wasn't a huge fan of the Cap head sculpt, the color scheme is too bright for me personally and the final strike was that shield, when this guy was first showed off I thought that the electric piece should have been a floating piece that hangs on the shield like so many other accessories and the bullet and slash effects should have been clips that tab on the rim of the shield. The excuse of "oh you should already have another Cap shield" sounds like such a con tactic because it implies that you'll buy the same character again but with a new coat of paint and some new accessories, I think most people will only buy one version of a character and that arrogance is absurd. This guy is nice and all but he'll always be stuck in action poses because he'll look horrible just standing there with holes in his shield, a good action figure should be able to hold interesting, dynamic, cool poses and neutral poses. Maybe you don't mind that or mind buying another version of a character period but you can do a lot better.

Hasbro can always do better. They did the great things right with this figure but missed out the simple things. There's also the option of just slinging the shield on his back to keep the holes out of sight. Oh well 🤷🏽‍♂️
