I’ve watched quite a few people working on cars on the net and you are one of the few that has the guard on the angle grinder 👍

Love the XD stuff; back in the day (early 2000's), i bought a 40ft shipping container off a bloke who worked at J.T Fossey Ford in Tamworth. I bought an ex NSW Highway Patrol car with genuine 351ci + single rail with blue interior trim (had the ESP F+R seats thrown into it at some point); There was enough NOS panels (3x entire roof panels, both rear 1/4's times ALOT, beaver panels out the whatsit, and roll pans for days); there was also bulk shitton of NOS XD/XE/XF interior & exterior stuff in the container. Ended up doing a Tafe repair course, stitched on the new panels and also learnt how to lead wipe by the teacher (who later on, got done for fiddling with kids...) By the time i was done- it had a 383ci stroker & Jericho air assist 4 spd from a wrecked Mustang i bought in from the US. It was a fucking pig to drive on the street, but motored on the strip.

never too long on the vid's graham always enjoy watching you work that dog leg section what i've done on similar repairs is fold a edge then use braze to weld it leaving a slight gap for the braze to melt into then use a 1 mill cutting wheel to grind the seam in to the braze so it looks factory i've had to do cuts like you did on the boot even when fitting other panels i found they vary even if the cars had no accident damage seems they still fitted panels to match each body like in the 50'swhen they made the 70/80's cars

Love the attention to detail on the boot. Top rate Graham. And you're dead right these poor old bangers were built by ordinary folks not Peter Thomaseni

Loved seeing how you "manhandled" the boot to get the fitment mint. I always wondered if panels could be smacked around a bit to do this, and apparently you can haha. Any chance you could show us how you do the brass welding (maybe even a Patreon video)?

Smashing! Good vid mate, question, how to rectify if the boot lid sits a little high at the back 2 corners near the rear screen, gaps ok otherwise but both corners sit up??? 🤔🤔
@xacoupeguy3 жыл бұрын
Its very hard to describe but easy to show basically open the bootlid and push up till the hinges bend the bootlid frame

I will give it a whirl tommorow mate, thanks for the tip, keep up the brilliant work!! 👍👌👌
