Commented on Twitter about this but man am I heartbroken. Been playing this game pretty regularly after giving it a break for a bit. Always play either solo or with my brother, and always have a great experience. Been playing off and on since the beta, this was the first fps game to really grip me ever since I gave up cod. The music, no sbmm, the gameplay, the characters the amazing maps, I mean what’s not to love. Had a conversation with my brother two/three days ago about how excited I was to see what this game becomes over the years and to watch it grow, as there’s soooo much potential with all the factions they could add and the maps they could draw from the games owned by Ubisoft. I now realize this will never happen and I won’t get to experience that, shit has me sad. All they had to do was add some more progression, permanent lobby’s, and it would be perfect imo. This also makes me feel absolutely terrible for the devs, as you can sense and see all the love and passion they put into the game. Which in the end was meaningless since it will be shut down. All of this before Christmas too, which makes this even worse. I’m soul crushed rn, can’t imagine how the devs feel. This news literally ruined my day bro, the game brought me back to a simpler time and was just so fun to play. Remember asking you blame truth a few weeks back what your favorite gun was to use and faction. Remember you said you enjoyed using the p90 at the time. Was looking forward to seeing you play and talk about the game in videos as the years went on as well. But in the end XDefiant never got any real content to grind for like prestige mode etc. It ended up being boring and had nothing to play for other than camos which were a grind and quite boring if you ask me. Also the issues like netcode and stuff never got fixed properly and personally the damn spider bot made me quit the game… They had a solid base for a really good game, but in the end they failed. But other things there was no counter like incendiary rounds, the mini flame rocket or whatever it was. stuff like that will and did run away casuals. The game was lots of fun when the matches were evenly matched and when they were not, you knew about 1 minute into the match then people would quit. Between the crap netcode and the cheaters the game became unplayable for casuals.

It honestly reminded me of Combat Arms, Crossfire, S.K.I.L.L. etc. because of how basic and barebones everything felt from the visuals to the motion. The VFX were also terribly outdated. i have friends to play with on cod this year. they bought into the treyarch hype, thank god it’s on gamepass lol. i actually have fun on it when i play with them at least some of the time and zombies to me feels like cold war but more fleshed out and better. i was a long time solo player before and during when xdefiant came out so when it dropped it was THE game i played by myself. i’m at level 199 and when the season 3 content drops i’ll hit 200 as a tribute to the game that helped me feel something again. it’s a shame but i understand why it died, soooo many problems and bugs. they dropped the s2 update and broke footstep audio for like a month bro cmon… bombs spectator cams were abysmal, and the trading ruined the mode. a talented group of devs that made some of the best maps in an arena shooter i ever played were just dealt with terrible cards. worst game engine for an fps possible, spaghetti netcode, probably forced to drop the game early because PRESTIGE ISNT EVEN OUT YET. something went down behind the scenes w this game for sure. hope mark and his team get another chance somewhere. good luck to solo players lol

i skipped a lot of cods and easily would’ve skipped this one as well if it wasn’t on game pass. u can get a code off g2a that costs as much as your lunch brotha. it’s not that deep. especially since i work a job and take classes, all i have time for when gaming is to play with the boys. and ya know what, i like playin with the boys. so even tho the games mid, ima play with the boys✌️

The other thing to realize is games like dead by daylight and fortnite have where by the time you complete the batrlepass, you regain the currency you spent on it. So they essentially reward their players that commit to completing it by making them only have to technically buy one

Gaming in General just needs a hard reset. Stop it with the live service, microtransaction, manipulation patents, and all that bullshit. Its just so played out. The only game I feel should have it its Fortnite.
