@Nalehw5 жыл бұрын
@@Jacodaify You're right, that definitely is a cycle that can happen! I think that happened to PvP: it had pretty short queues at the start of Stormblood, so people ran it to level. But then they gave it a small xp nerf to discourage AFKing, and suddenly a lot of people abandoned it... which means it became useless for levelling because the queues were slow... which means nobody runs it for levelling... which means the queues STAY slow. But I don't think Trusts are the same situation. Dungeons are mostly populated by roulettes. You can't do a roulette with Trusts. And - thankfully - they seem to be pretty slow, so even farmers probably won't use them much. So the queues should honestly be fine. The main people who Trusts appeal to are: 1) the people who shouldn't be doing dungeons ANYWAY, e.g. people practicing their class, people with social anxiety, or people who know they might get interrupted by their kids; 2) DPSes trying to skip long queues. Which... will actually improve the DPS queue for everyone else because it won't be so over-filled. I guess we'll see how it pans out, but for now, it seems to me like a win-win.

Do mechanics always target the player like with squadrons?
@kyotanaka9205 жыл бұрын
Yes, it does. And for some instances, it fucking SUCKS. Whatever that 53 place is, the second boss ALWAYS target you regardless of color. If he pelts you with a blue, your healer wont even bother healing you because you're in the "safe" zone and you fucking die to the next red he throws, unless you heal yourself somehow. I cannot vouch for Shadowbringer but when this happens in ARR and Heavensward, you'll know what's up and it's an awful experience. It's not the only place either where this is awful
@RamzaJinnRuu5 жыл бұрын
@@kyotanaka920 I have done that mission on all roles and jobs play the mechanics like you suppose to when you get red target walk to your a squadron to cut the damage. If you running any options of classes 2 out of the 3 squadron will be standing near each other. Damn dungeon is pretty easy and straight forward. The only dungeon I hate so far is lv50 one with the goblin boss at end when you suppose to move the bombs from the center most classes can't deal with it at all I was only able to beat it as a mnk, war, pld, nin, and whm.
@kyotanaka9205 жыл бұрын
@@RamzaJinnRuu I did play the mechanics I was suppose to. Doesn't change the fact that it was fucking horrid to go through. In that level 53 dungeon, Tank, you take damage anyway and you can live through nukes, while healers you just... heal yourself. Other roles where they dont have a heal? Pray you got a few max potions from Deep Dungeons or you're SOL, because your healer will not prioritize in healing you if you get hit with the blue slime, and you WILL die if you can't DPS check all the other reds in time. And then theres the green slime... fuck that slime. That's the only difficult part in that dungeon and it's because the boss singles YOU out instead of anybody else, all the time. The last boss literally does the same thing, but the huge difference is that its avoidable so you aren't SOL. The goblin one is actually one of the easier one for me. At least when you die its from player error, not faulty mechanics singling out players as opposed to AIs. You just need to survive it yourself and you're gold, fuck your team they take like 90% reduced damage from AoEs anyway. Though this shows a huge problem in Squadrons: playing the mechanics the INTENDED way might fuck you over. Also, for future reference, best way to do Vault is to have your team on disengage, get aggro and wait till they are in range, and spam Engage and Disengage: this forces the tank to use multiple AoE enmity attacks in a row. Best results from a Paladin, where it's easier to hit everyone in a circle than a cone. Be careful with this though, disengage will make the healer be idle for like 3 to 4 seconds for god knows why. Vault is actually one of the easier ones to do with Squadron, again most problems you'll faced is from player errors. Tank and Heal AI might be awful but you can still "cheese" encounters even after Archer nerf. The real problems are the mechanics where boss can ignore tanks, which MIGHT be fine if you can dodge it. So something like the level 44 dungeon last boss plays out normally since his mechanics is easily dodgable... while 53 second boss will fucking suck if you cant DPS the red and green slimes in time, and your team will be too dumb to help unless you make them Disengage and Engage them, which makes the heal and DPS unresponsive for a bit. God help you if you dont have a self heal outside of second wind.

Thank you for the information on Trusts. Seems like the application of such has more uses than I thought what with being able to practice roles or dungeons without feeling like you need to be a master of it your first time through. Hopefully it trickles down into past dungeons and maybe even moves into MSQ trials for this reason (as well as for the immersion), while also remaining obvious that playing with others is the most efficient choice once in due to pulling more mobs and players potentially doing more damage. Actually wouldn't mind if you could summon three trusts to help clear FATES since the main reason I don't do them after the first couple weeks is that they take too long compared to other options to get experience and rewards. Might also encourage teaming up with someone who also has three, to make a full party. Some of my best experiences in starting over in FFXI to experience every all over again when Rhapsodies was released was unlocking all of the Trusts that I worked alongside during the stories and just having them there with me to fight in my adventures thereafter in the world.
@VisceralNyx5 жыл бұрын
It probably not a favored opinion but i hope they make them available for all dungeons. This would really help with the dps wait times and would only be favored when wanting to play solo, just get a dungeon done for MSQ progress, etc. Since the AI isnt top tier and cant pull "wall to wall" as you say, people will still favor live teams for dungeon grinding.

The Trust system in XI is great. It's in depth, you earn your trusts, both number and characters, and you can use them mostly anywhere if I remember correctly. I understand that the XI system came in as population continued to wane, but I truly hope trusts in XIV get expanded much more widely than just using them in the current exp pack's MSQ. Implementing it in this state almost assures a bottleneck at every MSQ, at least at ShB launch -- it's the only place you can try out the new feature! Give me open-world trusts, and so long as FATEs have the same sort of bonuses as they do in SB, I'll be grinding FATEs to recap jobs. Heck, I'd finally get that FATE achievement. It's actually a great and efficient way to level if you have even a single companion to do it with, and it will help to avoid the dreaded 'Raubahn Ultimate', because you won't be confined to such a narrow bit of content to enjoy the feature. Expanding the Trust feature is definitely the way to go in my eyes.

@smudgedragon5 жыл бұрын
My biggest, burning question with the trust is do you need to do it solo? Or can you use it to fill out an undersized party? I have a questing partner that I love playing with, and there's a lot of time we'd love to do a dungeon run synced with just the two of us so we had a chance of looking around and seeing things that dumping into a duty finder party (which runs balls to the walls) simply won't allow. We have found that running an undersized party, unsynced and over level/gear is no fun as it's just simply not challenging enough. (If you don't have the potential of wiping, it's not worth doing.) But if we could use the trust system to fill in our missing with less drama inducing party members, for some runs, I think that it would really improve our game-play experience. Especially for first clears. I'm hopeful. But am braced for the answer being 'no' too.
