Well, if they tried to do the same again with a different actress, of course they'd fail. But if they gave it a new dimension and did things differently, they would be able to create a different and amazing show that wouldn't render the original obsolete whatsoever, but instead both of them would be worth watching by their own. I, for one, would love it to be remade with greek and italian actors, filmed in their native languages and in Greece, with action scenes being more down-to-earth, and a more explicit exploration of Gabrielle's and Xena's relationship and their sexualities. Also with a different ending.
