Turnout this game is another rebelling against oppression gam, and they’re pretty much 4 types seemingly. 1: (Most of them) Unforgivable oppressors 2: Supposedly dead characters 3: Another Noah and Mio 4: T, who’s not evil at all.

So for the cutscene where D apparently kills Nia, I think that the game doesn’t completely understand the concept of blades (at least the way that I interpret it). In the scene after the fight, D apparently missed by a few centimetres. However, judging by where the projectile went through the pod, I can estimate that Nia‘s wound would be around her belly area. The core however is on her chest. Therefore, it wasn’t close, it feels like D intentionally missed. He wouldn’t even have damaged any vital organs since blades rely on their core crystal.

Spike damage reduction aux cores are dropped by the enemies in the area. You can pretty much avoid the spike damage altogether though if you save your chain attack and use it at the half way point. Just put down a couple of orbs on the wires before you get halfway to ensure you can keep the chain going enough to destroy it and possibly then some. Any common blade with orb mastery will help place orbs faster, but they have to be out on the field. But if you want to be reminded how to place orbs: You can start with any level special. Then do a Level 2 or higher special Then a Level 3. (Or level 4. Only with whoever you're directly controlling though). The ai will only use their level 4 specials if you break more than 4 orbs in a chain attack. They will only ever go up to level 3 otherwise. You can tell what level special everyone is on by the number of white sparks circling a character's portrait. One spark > level 1 Two sparks > level 2 Three sparks > level 3 Knowing this alone should help the most.
