OBJECTION! I ENJOYED XENOBLADE X! But in this video I'm talking about some of the things I didn't like SINCE EVERYONE ELSE IS TALKING ABOUT HOW MUCH THEY LOVE THE GAME! I decided to be a little down to Earth! AND I CAN STILL LIKE A GAME AND TALK ABOUT ITS SHORTCOMINGS AT THE SAME TIME! And who knows the definitive edition might fix all the issues I had with the game. 😁

I'll be honest. I loved XC2 but wasn't a huge fan of XCX. I tried to get into XCX but my biggest issue with it was that it felt hollow and unfinished. XC2 (my favourite) felt like thriving and dynamic world that I loved and cared for. That's because it had multiple towns and communities in the game. But in XCX all we had was one crashed station and sadly that just didn't feel the same. Obviously it's a mission based game, but I'm not really into military orders type of gaming experiences. That doesn't resonate with me at all. That's not what life is about.

​@@TheChimplesI haven't played X but I am afraid I will have the same experience as you, as I love XC2 so much for these things. But the XCX gameplay looks so damn good that I wish there would be a XcX2 with the same exploration and playable Mechas but with a great story like the other Xenoblades and more towns as you said. Switch 2 can handle anything in Monolith's hands I believe.

Nah I think it is overhyped at least in terms of youtubers talking about it because ppl didn't care about this game that much during Wii u era. And now I see all kinds of youtubers that never once talk about X now talking about X. Only some youtubers kept talking about it before it's release. Enel and player essence actually played it and they deserve to get hyped. Commenters. However I think its adequately hyped by its actual Wii u fanbase cus alot of us did actually play the game and excited to see it.

Talking about the negative about a game that's arguably one of the most requested games of the wii u will definitely get the comments section filled. You know it's not overhyped. Yes it had its flaws but so do the other xenoblade games. X is fantastic and actually uunderrated not overhyped

People have been waiting almost a decade for any additional piece of lore at all from X. Getting that and a QoL overhaul? Definitely no overhyping.

I don't think it's over hype i just think that the Xenoblade fanbase has grown so much since since then and all of those new fan's like me who haven't been able to play X are excited to play it even if it end doesn't end up being the favorite.

That might be the natural feel from those who already played. But me, I shouted when I saw this game was coming to the Switch, I never played before, never had a Wii U, and this was my wish. It must be the same to everyone else who never had a Wii U: HYPE.

I’ve been saying Xenoblade X is my favorite Xenoblade game since I got to the end in 2016. And it’s still true. I quit both XC2 and XC3 cause I was bored of them, their stories, and their characters. I quit XC1 half way through on the Wii cause I was bored (though I finished DE on the Switch). X is by far my favorite game in the series. The best combat, the best characters, the best world. Plus, it actually feels like a Xeno game. The other blade games feel like Monado games, since that’s what XC1 was gonna be called, they don’t feel like Xeno games.

Dlc were Packs for faster loading of texturen,cutscense an models. The only other dlc were paid Content for more Chars skells and quests in asia that Was part of Western Release for free

I love the game but I'm definitely aware of the game's flaws and know that they'll feel more prominent for first time players who are fans of the trilogy. The exploration focus over story will be the biggest downside for sure but there are also things like menu text being very small, story missions locked behind side quests, music overpowering dialogue in some cutscenes, etc. Granted they can fix some of these with the extra story content and quality of life changes. As for the game being overhyped I don't think that's a big issue since I feel like people warn new players of the weaker story to lower expectations in that department. The rest of the Xenoblade games have great worlds but since they haven't replicated that exploration feeling of Xenoblade X I think it's worth the praise it's getting and won't disappoint newcomers in that regard.

Xenoblade X always looked like the Xenogears art style, which I loved. I'm actually on the fence with the new style. That said, the ONLY thing thwarting my tremendous excitement is the censorship. At least it's not any NEW censorship, that I'm aware of. As for the switch 2, I would love to see it improve the performance of existing games, too. I don't know what the actual features of the console will be.

XcX is kino. KINO you heard me!? :D I'd say Xenoblade 1 is a bit overrated while 2 is a bit underrated (after all the updates). Everyone agrees that 3 is amazing. Basically it's all a consistently great series. I hear you though, X wasn't perfect but there was too much to love, and I never regretted getting a WiiU for it.

It has been almost 10 years for this game so I'm truly hyped! I loved it even for its shortcomings and fully accepted that the original X was inferior, story-wise but the Definitive Edition will most probably address that. As for the other things, like combat....I for one didn't have any problem with the gameplay. The overall aesthetic is mostly the same except for the character models and upping the previous environment models which I think looks great even by Wii U standards. The fonts could have been larger. So I am excited for this! I finished this game wayback 2015-2016 and played more than 100+ hours to scour the whole of Mira and listening to the music :D

Is a great game and it could be enjoyed stand alone because is kinda like a spin off unless they connect it to the mainline games what they could... With the extra added story content. I think Xenoblade X is a good game now overhyped? Ehhh... I don't think so, is definitely one of the best Wii-U games and is finally leaving the system and it will be more accessible on the Switch!

As amazing it is and how happy I am to see this. I really hope they finish this game since so much stuff got axed. The other thing I hope the switch can smooth alot of the performance issues the wiiu had. Sadly though I won't be able to play this since I bought the wiiu just to play this and will not be doing that again. I have not bought a switch up to this point and still will not be buying one especially at this point in its life cycle. Over all its just a solid title that suffered from the limitation of the wiiu

Lots of bad takes in this video. The sidequests and exploration in XCX are amazing. I really liked the music when it came out, specially the skell battle themes.

The sidequests aren't bad you just had to do them to get any other characters besides the 3 or 4 the story gave you. And I just don't like exploration being forced upon me. As I said if I like the game enough I will explore of my own choice.

Hard disagree, but appreciate your take. I’m not struggling with revisionist history. I just played this a few years ago and I LOVED XcX. It’s my second fave of the series and is still not beat imho with regard to combat flexibility and exploration. Regarding story its not the strongest but I would argue still above average compared to general JRPGs.

I heard this game was insane so i went out and bought the WII U to play it and it blew me away. It's ezly one my favorite games of all time. Now that said i will miss the real life graphic it had compared to the cartoon/anime it'l have now. Agreed with the issue to go explore and find items/open world map % it was BS. Can't wait gonna have so much fun with it.

Is a cliffhanger bad because you never got answers? Or was it bad because it was just executed badly? I think there's a distinction. You could have a great cliffhanger and never get answers, it doesn't make it bad. I know Horizon is getting a Horizon 3 and 2 ended in a cliffhanger that i thought wasn't good because it was just lackluster. So which one is it?

I think it's seen as bad because the main story already feels barebones and unfinished. You're left with a lot of questions that you sort of come to terms with as the credits roll and then the game throws two bigger ones right after.

I think it's right to say measure your expectations - this is always true with any game that is niche/limited in release or never made it here. A small group gives it good press and it gets this status it can't live up to - see FF Type 0 for instance.

Cool upload that focuses on some negatives which I like as opposed to so many other videos out there. Personally most of these negatives didnt bother me like the forced exploration as I tended to do tons of that anyway and this way I could explore a ton and not be overlevelled for story progression. I much prefer this games less anime look. Xeno 2 and 3 went too far in the anime direction imo. Each to their own of course. Story was sparse but again I am much more a gameplay guy so it was fine for me and I did really like where the story was going though its pacing was indeed poor. The New LA music very much wore out its welcome for me I must say but the overworld themes were amazing. Cant wait to jump into this game again and I already pumped over 200 hours in way back lol. REALLY hope we get fps boosts from switch games on switch 2.

I see X as a crazy experiment by Monolith with "what if we put the exploration slider to the max?" I prefer the mainline Xenoblade series no doubt, but i must admit X was really special, as flawed as it was, it provided an experience i never saw in any other RPG or game before at the time, the best word that comes to mind to describe it is: "Crazy", from the scale of the world to explore, its fauna, its music, the freedom you feel (especially in a mech)... i usually hate open worlds but not this one, it felt so rewarding to explore and I couldn't care less for character development or story here, what i'm usually extremely keen on.

I really enjoyed Xenoblade X and despite it's flaws I've come to appreciate it more as time went on after playing each new Xenoblade game. Even as the worlds in other RPGs got bigger I never felt like they managed to give the same feeling as traversing in Xenoblade X.

Lin's outfits, and the boob slider was removed. Even with that, it had the most fanservice of any of the Xenoblade games if you were willing to grind for the right outfits.

There's some skimpy outfits you can give the female characters but if you put those outfits on your 13 year old female party member she is covered up more. They also removed the breast slider for your costumizable character. I'm assuming that the breast slider toggle was removed to avoid people making childlike characters and have them dressed up in skimpy outfits, especially since your character can show up in other people's game due to the online functions.

@sentoworf even with the slider you could not make child like characters. The smallest size was still significantly larger than, to use an example, Lin. There was no good reason to remove the slider.

The only problem with Xenoblade Chronicles X is still the story, cuz let's be real, xcx story is probably the least likable one within all Xenoblade series. I know monolithsoft said they focus on gameplay more with the story with xcx, but I still think they could have a better story writing. That being said still excited to play xcx on Switch. It's finally the time.
