I really loved the battle system at the time. It was so different from the usual turn based. I mean it's still turn based but the combo-attacks were super fun. I remember really enjoying the back to back (slightly annoying) battles at the castle.

Citan's voice is cracked up in US version. In US version, when using Hoten (one of the DB), Citan shouts like "Haar, SE~!" But in JP version, he shouts actually like "Haa, SHOo~!" (or "shuu!").

Ik this is nine years late, but there's a reason for that. They were made by the same devs. Even though xenogears was made by square, the staff quit after it and formed a new studio, monolithsoft, that went on to make project x zone, among other things

(reply to the author) Citan's best sword is Mumyo Sword gotten from defeating Dragon in Duneman Isle (west of Bart's Lair) during end of Disc 2. You can also get Bart's best whip there. But the Dragon has to be fought ON FOOT! Make sure one of your party members has the Trader Card equipped.

I think the biggest highlights of the gameplay to me was when I learned all of Fei's moves and when Citan got his sword. I was too geeked. I wish SquareEnix would get back with the creator, do a remake and let him finish it the way he wanted to. I think the second disc would have been much longer and enjoyable. Still, it's on the top 5 favorite games of all time. A coin toss between this and Chrono Trigger.

To anyone who wants to play this game again: * Go to Google and type in 'Download Ps1' games. There's a website called 'Emuparadise' and you can download many great PS1 games from there like Final Fantasy 7, Silent Hill 1, Dino Crisis, Xenogears! * Download a PS1 Emulator. * If you have a PS3 controller you can use it as a controller! Go to windows control panel --> Game Devices --> from there you can set-up your PS3 controller to certain buttons on screen.. then make the emulator match it!

I remember how Citan was already the most powerful character already on the ground (gear was a different matter but his first one was still good.) by a huge margin. Amongst the highest HP Top notch damage Second fastest character in the game. Amazing heal spell and other utility ether. Cool sprite. My Citan solo'd Id gameplay wise, I'm still not sure he was supposed to do that. And THEN, after all of that, he gets a sword. And uses Iaido. And second gear is amazing. It's like almost unfair. lol At least it served a purpose story wise too though.

I really didn't care for the weapon. The moves were too long and every time he strikes, he put it back in and took it back out. But RENKEN, that move saved me a lit if times! Especially battling ID. Lol

Go to where the light house is (ya know, it's on an island near babel and the orphanage) and go in there. You'll be taken to the underground city of Zeboim. explore it thoroughly and eventually a scene will play and she'll be older.

disc 1 was amazing in everything. disc 2 had very little development and wrap up. it was rushed because they had to finish the game to move onto a FF game so they just did anything. didnt you notice the huge drop in storytelling in disc 2?

U sure about that @gmoneygalaxy? Its part of the same time line. Abel was in xenosaga and xenogears. Hes abel originally and reincarnates into fei after a few lifetimes.
