Watching this video as I'm about to start a replay. It's fun to watch a speedrun cause I can always find new strategies that I never think about when I just play the game casually.

I really enjoyed the combat for this game. Thanks guys for showcasing this speedrun. Cool to see guys who are fans of ASL as well.

i love fastatacc's energy he brings to this run. he looks a bit like a coworker of mine and his demeanor si not completely dissimilar to this guy and because its xenosaga ep 2 i feel like i know fastatacc even though this is the first time i've ever seen a run of his. it's a really funny feeling i can't fully explain but i very much appreciate his run and commentary as well as ballz and fatso's contribution to the run. very enjoyable you guys. thank's very much

2 is my favorite combat system, for sure. I enjoyed the story beats almost as much as the other 2, but it drags in spots (I'm looking at you, MOMO multiple-seasons dive). Honestly, 2 started so strong (partly in presentation), and with the updated mechs and the absolutely insane trailer that teased this game, it will always have a soft spot in my heart.

I’m happy to see _Xenosaga 2_ at a marathon because this game is better than people give it credit for. Seeing as the Break, Down, & Air system served as inspiration for the Break, Topple, & Launch system of the _Xenoblade_ games, it clearly did something right. (That was me at 1:26:18.)

impressed that it can be played so fast... i feel like I was stuck in single battles that took me 15 mins, not to mention cutscenes.

I was hyped for this one but I never got it at release due to money. But I'm kind of glad I didnt because I wasnt disappointed like everyone else was by the time I played it. Some years had passed and my expectations were nonexistent by then.

I loved the xenosaga trilogy, I was a young teen at the time so I was peak interested in the philosophical things it was discussing, as well as having the free time to learn all the in depth concepts and mechanics. I loved 2 for the most part, I thought the redesigns and the music change was very disappointing, but it didn't stop me from enjoying it. I thought KOS-MOS had such an ugly design that I couldn't use her, despite her being my favorite in 1 and 3. All the character exploration was great, though. You really have to want to watch a few movies worth of cutscenes to enjoy these games, it's a lot. Edit. I forgot to say I really enjoyed the run. It was interesting to see the game's fighting mechanics used optimally, and it was soooo nice to hear people talking about Xenosaga's story. I have so much knowledge about it and no one knows enough about it to talk about it. It was cathartic hahaha

fun fact: in the japanese version sergius was actually referred to as pope or rather "The Pope" as in the actual head of the catholic church but the localization teams probably rightly thought that this would be to dicey for western audiences so they changed it to patriarch as to not risk being even more offensive to christian especially catholic audiences and maybe cause a controversy with the curch

This urks me for no other reason than this being the only game to be released in Europe making it a nightmare to experience the xenosaga series in its entirety

I love this series, but this game has always been a stumbling block to doing a full trilogy run, but learning that you can SKIP the Catherdral fight makes me want to try again.

It's simple, U-DO is *connection error* And that's all there is to it.

I played this game as a kid when it came out and I hated the combat system. I am still not totally sold on it because it hides so much and you really need a walkthrough to really understand the combat to the level that you would want to. However, I appreciate it a lot more than I used to. I did a lot of research and learned as much as I could to understand the combat and the amount that I was able to improve my experience from first playthrough to now is night and day different. The fact that it can be so deep and fun to exploit is enjoyable, I just wish it laid out that information to the player a lot better.

1:10:07 - oh my god ahhhh how can you handle discs like that what is wrong with you. do some people just never learn how to hold a disc? jesus christ. absolutely barbaric.

Dude this game came out before Internet guides. It was awful and i still think it was the low point of the series.

wat. no, it didn't. gameFAQs had been going strong for years at this point
