Due to over 10 years of DROUGHT here in the Phoenix area, we have decided to "x e r i s c a p e" our front yard. Thanks for your inspiration and detailed information. We like a LAWN but it's just not American to have it anymore.

I thoroughly enjoyed this project series. The only aspect that I would have enjoyed additionally seeing would be some quality landscape lighting (“quality” meaning lighting purchased, and typically more expensive, from a proper retailer and not the rubbish sold at the Big Box stores). You can use acid to clean water deposited bricks, but it is caustic and requires safety equipment to use properly.

Where do you buy that aluminum edging cost effectively?

hat is Permaloc Anodized Black Aluminum Edging available from several online sources at reasonable pricing. Also, we frequently buy it from brick&moryar commercial landscape contractor suppliers located all over the country, such as Site One and Horizon Landscape Supply. These wholesale distributors also sell to retail customers and have good pricing.

What exactly is the (blend) for?

"Blend" is essentially all our dry products together to maximize changing/improving soil while feeding plants/lawn/trees at the same time.

How quickly will the ground cover fill in?

By end of June we will see mostly green and very little brown mulch. Kurapia covers very quickly as soon as high temperatures are over 80 degrees.

0:03. I can drive around 300 new homes in my area and that kind of landscaping, IE builder quality, horrible, go there 2 years later and 50% of the yards have 2 foot tall weeds. Replicate what looks good and install lots of hardscape with a good amount of shrubs and plants. I simply re sod my yard, front and back I am tired of dealing with weeds. I water enough but never too much, my water stays on the lawn and not the sidewalk. The biggest difference if you care enough and do enough you will have success.
