As soon as I heard that growl that says “I can’t even come close to hitting this note so I’ll make some guttural distractions and hope it passes for some Janis Joplin like vocal passion ….but it doesn’t…I feel bad for the girl.. these so called judges of talent just perpetuate the idea of mediocrity being another “area” or “form” of talent.. but it’s not… I’m sure this brave young girl has some genuine talent in another area perhaps even many talents but to laud over her as this new great singer will only bring her disappointment and embarrassment somewhere down the road….
