NachoSupreme 3416 C’mon, Saints fans ain’t the only ones complaining. It’s just a big problem because some teams are built offensively, some defensively. Take the Chiefs for example, we couldn’t see Patrick Mahomes answer after his 32nd ranked defense allowed a TD drive in the AFC Championship and that really stinks for all nfl fans.

They should use their PAT rules in OT. Let teams go for 1, 2, or 3 points from the 2, 5, or 10 yard lines. That would mean LOTS of strategy, and teams that fail on a play could still come back.

Here is my 2 cents... The sport already has the athletes having tremendous consequences in their physic due to the high intense contact, now, this rules will double or triple the amount of contact and or sprinting time, less pauses and more fatigue. This will make injuries and seizures more common and destructive.
@youtubeisbroken241
@youtubeisbroken241 5 жыл бұрын
Friedrich Nietzsche by putting the players closer to each other? I feel we will see less injuries (assuming all the nfl safety based rules are on place). No hitting a defenseless receiver, roughing the passer, etc. It looks like in this league, being light and having endurance will outweigh being heavy and good at tackling.

I’m not sure, all the time people say qbs are not supposed to back across the field because it’s easily intercepted/defended, but all of the double forward passes shown here were exactly that. Still interesting though
@vamoscruceros
@vamoscruceros 5 жыл бұрын
I could see a shovel pass followed by a jump pass becoming common. The rule could also force defenses to step up in late game situations - drop too many guys into coverage, then react to a back catching a pass, and you can get burned by a receiver who is now open.
@blessredy
@blessredy 5 жыл бұрын
That rule alone is going to turn off a lot of the Die-hard football fans. You can't reinvent the Football wheel here in America. Real football fans don't want to see trick plays every single passing down. But in this league it's required just to move the ball past the scrimmage line with a passing play. Don't blink! This League won't last.
@tray22
@tray22 5 жыл бұрын
The double forward pass and the overtime rules are my favorite. It completely makes sense that you can pass forward as long as it is behind the line of scrimmage. This would make a backup QB more of an option during games when your lead QB is still playing.

Seems the obvious thing to do is go for 3 after every touchdown unless you say only need 1 point to win or go ahead. Given the cushion it's actually easier I would think to get 10 yards in The End Zone opening up your playbook a little bit to wear one or five yards it's very limited what you can do. And even if you miss the 3 point conversion the first time if you make it the second time it's still better than going for 1. I think this needs to be thought out better.

In terms of counting points, yes, but the full 2 teams will be on the field on every play as opposed to 2 players in soccer, so it will be pretty different! Maybe there will be more backups specializing in the short-field plays? I imagine O-line and D-line players will be very important for those.

I love these unique rules. The 1, 2, and 3 point conversions are pretty fun. It'll make games much more mathematically interesting in it's own right. And the double forward pass seems more pragmatic and it could encourage more trick plays.

In overtime... let’s say Team A & Team B both get 3/5... would the extra single rounds rotate who goes first. For example. Round 6 of OT: Team A goes first, Team B goes second. For the 7th round, would Team A still go first? Or would they rotate & Team B would go first?

Man some of y'all must just be mad in life. I think this will be exciting. A course the nfl has the most skilled players so trying to so the exact same thing will be a failed. So make it faster and bring back what we loved. Some of the most exciting plays are a return. Plus I think the nfl will adapt some things from this maybe put it In the pro bowl which is a joke now. But the kickoff is safe and more exciting I can see the nfl adapting that. The 60 sec max time to review a play is something the nfl need to do

The XFL is also adapting the running game clock from the AAF which means the game clock does not stop in between plays except during the last two minutes of each half. The shootout overtime rules seems interesting, but I think they should have limited that to three possessions to start with and adjust as necessary.

Prefer to use punts on kickoffs. What about going to 10 man football. Would open up field. Receptions should be just one foot down not two. Penalty for QB throwing ball out of bounds if not within 5 yards of reciever could be a 5 yard penalty. 10 man would still have 7 on linrpe of scrimmage. Watched some 8 and 9 man football. Miss your assignment or tackle and you give up touchdown. Speed more important than size. Would be one less player in backfield. No triple option! Hooray.
