NachoSupreme 3416 C’mon, Saints fans ain’t the only ones complaining. It’s just a big problem because some teams are built offensively, some defensively. In a lot of ways the XFL will benefit the NFL as far as testing the waters on new areas of the game. Much easier for a new league to try something out of the norm then it is for one that's been established for decades and has a lot to lose if it goes wrong. Glad to see VKM put the right people in charge this time around and help advance (hopefully) the game of football across the board.

The one foot inbounds is actually in college football, where the idea for the OT format kind of comes from, though they modified it so it looks more like hockey, as well. In a way, this might be the XFL bringing in some of NCAA's ideas (one of the few things about college football that's actually good knowing how they rank teams for championships) and tweaking them to work in a pro football setting. Tim Wiyninger do you really though?.. it still has to be behind the line of scrimmage that’s not changing much other than it doesn’t have to be a lateral. it’s not like QB will drop back 20 yards to throw the pass so really it’s gonna be a forward pass of a max 4-5 yards that’s not changing much from the lateral pass. 2 forward passes anywhere on the field would open the play book up a lot.
@TDarvin5 жыл бұрын
@@keatonhatch6213 could make a screen option with a forward pass to the side line... if there is enough room downfield run it.. if you see an open guy throw it.. since the double pass is legal.. once the first pass is thrown.. safety's cant come up to collapse the play if there is a chance of throwing it over the top.

I’m not sure, all the time people say qbs are not supposed to back across the field because it’s easily intercepted/defended, but all of the double forward passes shown here were exactly that. Still interesting though
@vamoscruceros5 жыл бұрын
I could see a shovel pass followed by a jump pass becoming common. The rule could also force defenses to step up in late game situations - drop too many guys into coverage, then react to a back catching a pass, and you can get burned by a receiver who is now open.
@blessredy5 жыл бұрын
That rule alone is going to turn off a lot of the Die-hard football fans. You can't reinvent the Football wheel here in America. Real football fans don't want to see trick plays every single passing down. But in this league it's required just to move the ball past the scrimmage line with a passing play. Don't blink! This League won't last.
@tray225 жыл бұрын
The double forward pass and the overtime rules are my favorite. It completely makes sense that you can pass forward as long as it is behind the line of scrimmage. This would make a backup QB more of an option during games when your lead QB is still playing.

Given the cushion it's actually easier I would think to get 10 yards in The End Zone opening up your playbook a little bit to wear one or five yards it's very limited what you can do. And even if you miss the 3 point conversion the first time if you make it the second time it's still better than going for 1. I think this needs to be thought out better.
